Really? Oh man, that makes this announcement so much more pathetic. XD

I actually liked this game's campaign quite a bit. While KZ2 remains my favourite in the series, this was still a good entry, and one of the few PS4 games that actually makes use of the touch pad.

Oh, come on. Don't do this. Vaas is a memorable villain, yes, but it's because he stood out. He was different. We'd not really seen an antagonist like him before. He served his purpose in FC3's story. If you bring him back just because he was popular, you're playing catch-up.

This is like when the Silent Hill series brought back Pyramid Head and the zombie nurses because "iconic characters" and it felt like a poor man's version of what had ...

You know, I'd like to see newer games take the stylistic approach of pre-rendered backgrounds. FF9 in particular still looks great even today, and if talented artists got involved, taking advantage of 4k and current tech, we could see some incredible looking games.

It should depend entirely on the game. Sometimes waypoints work and help facilitate the gameplay, sometimes they end up distracting you from the world and then it into a map following exercise. A lack of waypoints can judge the player into exploring and immersing themselves in the world, and other times just lead them wandering aimlessly with no sense of satisfaction. Different games require different approaches. Sucker Punch should do what they think is best, and if waypoints (yes, even &quo...

I like multiple difficulty modes when the Devs go the extra mile to tailor the experience. For example, in MGS2 to get every dog tag you have to play on Very Easy, Easy, Normal, Hard and Extreme. The differences between each of them are much more stark than just "enemies do more damage." Bosses can have different attack patterns. Fatman's bombs have different locations to be extra sneaky at higher difficulties. There are more guards with altered patrol routes, and added danger i...

I dunno, guys. My Great-Great-Granny found Easy Mode too hard. She also found Classic mode (which is even easier than Easy mode) too hard. Kotaku should stop being so elitist, skill-shaming people who don't have as much gaming skill as they do and claiming the mode is too easy. Why doesn't the game have an even easier mode for my Great-Great-Gran-Gran? This game is anti-consumer and clearly not accessible enough for new gamers.

Oh, sorry, it's only okay when you...

I think it's fine to admit wanting a happy medium between two difficulty modes, but the way games journalism has been hot on the heels of devs who make "hard" games, some even going as far as saying it's anti-consumer and that challenge is just a barrier for entry and all about bragging rights... Seeing journalists complain about an Easy mode being easy is pretty hilarious.

Also from Kotaku, as it happens. Published last year. Interesting.

For me the best aspect of the series is how it has reinvented itself constantly. While the first few on NES/SNES work pretty much the same, anything past that has been different every time. Tons of other RPGs have the same battle systems, levelling systems, art style, same world etc with just some minor tweaks with each title. FF tries something different every time, which I guess is why there's so much disagreement among fans over which games are best.

I saw something about that and assumed it was an April Fool's joke, but... no.

From what I've read we don't yet have absolute proof this is what's happened, but the accusations are there and we're yet to see what the investigation will bring up. What a weird world we live in if it turns out to be true.

If the argument is that this gen has so much to offer, wouldn't it make sense to wait until the next gen systems are released because we'll probably see current gen get a price cut? That's what tends to happen when a new generation comes around.

This sounds like an article a 12 year old with no gaming knowledge would post.

To summarize the article:

- Games taking place at official tournaments having random disconnects in the middle of matches despite the players literally sitting in the same room.
- Some players were forced to play Rock, Paper Scissors to determine the match winner due to matchmaking issues. Yes, in an official tournament.
- Rampant bugs in the game. In one penalty shootout, a player scored a goal, the ball hitting the back of the net, but the game didn'...

Barely a few months ago Stadia fans were saying "If you buy Stadia you'll never have to buy another console or PC ever again." I mean, Google not magically getting every game release ever onto their system is the biggest surprise in the history of surprises. To think Stadia, the almighty future of gaming, could fail... It's a real shock and I still can't quite believe it. If only there had been a way to predict this! Why wasn't there a sign this would happen? WHY!? ...
