I applaud Naughty Dog for their accessibility options. They're taking steps in the right direction.
As for the mountain of difficulty options, I can't help but think there are better ways to go about it. Starting up the game and being given difficulty settings for a whole load of different variables (enemies damage, health, item scarcity etc) what player is going to know what's best for them? Simply introducing all these options doesn't necessarily mean the ...
Exactly the same for me. Timesplitters 4 is now merely a pipedream because of Haze, and that hurts the most.
Average gameplay aside, what boggles my mind with Haze is that they ruined the entire plot in every trailer, interview, and even on the back of the box. Corporation bad, Nectar make you not see things, you join the rebels. Told in a more mature way and without it being spoiled from day 1, I could've seen Haze making much more of an impact.
What gets me the most in TLoU 2 is the vegetation. Especially in the area where you first face the Scars, it was to the point I was so distracted by all the individual plants and blades of grass swaying in the breeze that I almost forgot there were enemies around. XD
Uncharted 4 and TLoU 2 visuals are absolutely mind-blowing. Multiple times in both games I've had to stop and just gawp at what's on screen. I can't imagine what they're going to accomplish with PS5, but I'll be there.
I just watched some gameplay footage after reading your comment, and I have to say, the game looks nowhere near as good as I remember it. Models look low-poly as heck, and the environments that I once considered beyond belief now look poor compared to many recent games. Still a good looking game in many regards, and it is 12 years old, but given its status and the "can it run Crysis" meme, it's still a shock that it hasn't held up.
The number of times I've been disappointed because a game finished too early is too many to count, while I almost never ever feel let down by a game dragging on too long. In that sense, I don't want my games to get shorter. They've been short enough in recent years.
That sounds awfully similar to a game on the BBC Micro called "Podd." There were simple commands such as "walk" and "jump", but most kids just wanted to type in "pop." In which case, Pod would swell and swell and literally explode into a shower of pixels.
I'm fat and don't give a damn. Being unhealthy is most often a choice, and not one that should be glorified. This is nothing like negative racial stereotypes.
Could this mean we'll see a new Spyro in the future too?
I thought I was the only one hoping for a Fight Night sequel but judging from the comments, there are quite a few people who feel the same. As for others:
Okami
Timesplitters
Metal Arms
LA Noire
Dark Cloud
Metroid Prime
Dungeon Travelers
And of course... GTA!!!
Personally, I saw plenty of games that I'm excited for. Ratchet and Clank, GT7, Horizon 2, Death Loop, Kena, RE8, Demon's Souls, plus a few that look somewhat promising like Stray and Pragmata. Sony just needs a decent launch lineup with a price that doesn't destroy the wallet.
Oh yeah ;)
30 hours? 30 hours!?
I... Oh man. This is amazing! I need to book some time off work!
Okay, so their main complaint is that Ellie kills so many on her journey without ever empathising with those she kills. Hmmm... Maybe has something to do with her experiences in the first game with almost becoming a sex slave, the fact the world is essentially kill or be killed, with gangs of looters, murderers and rapists roaming around, I dunno, maybe all that might have something to do with the way Ellie acts?
I never played the first Spiderman so this doesn't bother me as it'll all be new, but for those who did, I can imagine this news is pretty disappointing.
King's Field 4 is genuinely great, if a bit dated. The pacing is a lot slower than Souls games and combat is very simplistic, but the music and atmosphere are amazing.
I thought Demon's Souls looked boring when I first saw gameplay from the Japanese release. I couldn't understand what was so great and assumed it was just fanboys hyping an exclusive. Then I finally played the game and it became my favourite RPG of all time, leading into my favourite series of all time. Sometimes first impressions are completely wrong.
I'm so, so glad they're actually making a brand new R&C instead of remaking older titles. This looks amazing, all the lighting effects, tons of action going on in the background, etc. Plus the dimension rift tech has a lot of potential for creative level design. Consider me hyped!
So long as it doesn't have the Premium/Standard thing going on, I'm in.
That's fair enough. Personally, I hate the idea of constantly having to second guess myself whether I need to adjust it up or down. There's no telling if I'm suddenly struggling because there's a genuine difficulty spike or BS encounter or I've simply overlooked something that would help me progress.
I generally like it when games have only one difficulty setting because then I have nothing to doubt. It's impossible for me to regret putting the game...
