SMB 3, Mario World, and Mario 64 all broke ground in some unique way. I coudln't say which is better personally. They're all incredible.
Just because it's a highly renowned game doesn't mean it's necessarily for you. Don't force yourself if it's not your type of game just because it's a hot commodity. Nobody will hate you if you say it's not your type of game. They'll only hate you if you say it's a bad game.
Don't forget CoD4. It has plenty over its predecessors.
Also, though I'm sure you hate Halo 3 if you're a PS3 owner, you can't deny that its replay system and Forge weren't innovative. If you do deny it, then you're certainly an ignorant person. I'm not saying the gameplay was innovative, because it's more of the same old stuff, so please, nobody put words in my mouth.

The numbers don't really matter in this situation. All that matters is the % of sales of games by 3rd party developers. PS3 and 360 have a much much higer % of sales of 3rd perty games. Wii hardly has any. That's the point. This isn't a PS3 vs. 360 war. Of course, fanboys have to try to make it that way.

It does appear that all this anti-hype is bringing up a lot more attention to the game. I'm still hopeful for the game despite all this. Here's to praying I didn't make a mistake reserving this one.

Remember, the hardware issue was because MS was being cheap about the chips. If they would have gone with the outside party in the first place, it would have most likely been fine.

Yeah, fanboys get on my nerves. I own a 360, and I don't plan on buying a PS3, but that doesn't mean I have to absolutley adore my 360 and hate the PS3. It's not unreasonable to say they're both good consoles in their own respects. Fanboys will always exist, though. *sigh*
Honestly, I'm getting tired of these articles. Xbox was around a year longer, so of course its sales are going to be down at this point. They're both successful consoles, and I really don't see any reason to be comparing sales so darn much at this point. No offense to you PS3 lovers(I like the system, so don't call me a hater), but it almost seems like some people just want to jump on the statistics and say, "Ha, PS3 IS better!"
Bungie may have only had one IP between the two Xbox consoles, but the original Halo put the Xbox on the map. Without Bungie, MS would have been pretty screwed, and the Xbox wouldn't have become so established in the industry.
Less than perfect gameplay can be made up for with great story. Just look at Mass Effect. Who knows what will happen at this point. It may not look that interesting right now, but it could still turn out amazing with the story. I suppose we'll find out in 2 months. I'm still hopeful for it at this point.

Coop can make a lot of lackluster games enjoyable. Take Army of Two. By yourself, it's pretty darn bad, like 6/10, but with a friend, it's upwards of 8/10. I'm sure the same can go for Haze.
I'm hoping they can pull off what they're planning with this. Sounds like it could be great. I'm just hoping they don't copy Crytek's crazy idea of putting mutant experiments into the game like the original. I prefer intelligent human AI over mindless monsters any day.

Can't dispute that at this point in the year, but you never know what's to come down the road later in the year. Lots of good stuff coming up. If not GotY, it'll definitely be a very strong runner for it. I certainly wouldn't complain if it got the title.
