Yeah, not trying to sound like a fanboy here, but if MS got the console right the first time, Sony would possibly be in trouble at the moment. I bet the RROD turned a fair amount of people off the system and into a PS3 owner.
Who knows, though. Something might have also been different in the PS3 if the RROD didn't exist.
So the entire world is you then? I don't see what you're trying to argue here. Just because you didn't play them doesn't mean tons of other people didn't. FF was always pretty popular in the west. It just didn't blast off into extreme popularity until 7. Advertising and the advent of the PSOne's hardware capability did wonders to bring that about. Also, the console gaming market was also starting to grow a lot more around that time, so more people were buying consoles.
Dead Space is a good one for your to avoid then if you don't like the horror genre. It's definitely one of the better horror games I've seen. Too many horror games stray too far toward action against things that might be scary instead of using environments and sounds to scare bodily fluids out of you like Dead Space attempts to do. It really captures into a game what a good horror movie can do.
I'm weird, though. I pretty much hate horror movies (except for a few amazing ones)...
You forget, Assassin's Creed is interesting until you realize you do the same 4 missions the entire game. That time varies based on your intelligence! It's like the shirt that has both on front and back "Want to keep an idiot entertained for hours? Look on the back/front."
Sorry bud, I wish I could tell you how good it is, but alas, I haven't played it yet. Too many other releases overhsadowed it for me. I plan on picking it up cheap someday. I thought it looked pretty interesting as well, and I'm not very inclined to believe the reviews at the moment. I think the biggest issue people had with it was the fact that it's very linear, but if it has good story and gameplay, that's a-ok with me.
And also, I'm glad you mentioned Dead Space is like Doom...
Unfortunately, your love for it woudln't save it if it was failing, but it's not, so don't worry. Maybe it's not doing as well as planned, but it's still alive, and you're getting good games next year, so be happy!
Microsoft sells crabs? Possibly GIANT ENEMY CRABS???
I'm positive KZ2 will improve from its predecessor, but the better question is, will it improve enough? Standards are a lot higher these days, so I'm still waiting for a final build to make my judgement. Yeah, plenty of games "look" great before release and in beta, but that doesn't mean the final build won't turn out uninspired and repetetive.
Basically what I'm saying is I like to take the safe route and not make too many early assumptions about a game. This happens...
It's pretty pathetic that you get disagrees on that one.
The Wall Street Journal needing attention? Like they don't get enough already...
Something tells me you just posted based on the title of the article. Good jerb!
^^
Took the words right out of my mouth and thensome. Always nice to see somebody posting based on reason, not blind faith. Bubbles, friend.
Fanboys really do need to realize that their console wouldn't be what it is without the competition to drive it forward.
Yeah, the younger generation missed the games, but people my age that grew up with the games didn't miss out. Older FF games still sold well. They just weren't considered mainstream until FF7, because that's when the big time advertising for the series started.
I have faith in Raven Software. They've released too many good games for me to doubt them.
I hate the Activision-Blizzard name. Articles like this get my hopes up that Blizzard might be releasing Starcraft 2 soon, but then I realize it's pretty much about more Activision shovelware and nothing to do with Blizzard.
MS owns my breakfast too. They won't let me eat it now =(
And Prowiew is one of the people that can actually win in this generation. Hurrah for enjoying both systems!
The only problem is when you put the words "Famitsu" and "review" in the same sentence without the word "sucky" or "crappy" between them, you really aren't thinking in the right direction. They pretty much have no credibility these days. I'd say wait for some other reviews before you make any judgements.
But since you're buying it regardless, what I just typed doesn't matter anyway! I'm just passing time at work! =D
I thought the 360 might do better after the spike when Tales of Vesperia came out, but the other exclusives really did nothing.
Well, we've seen spikes in sales from certain games, but I'm sure it's not as much as Microsoft expected.
I can't decide if I should laugh, cry, or eat a small child in spite.
