Badkolo, why don't you have more bubbles? That's the kind of attitude everyone should have. Support your games, love your games, and for God's sake, stop bickering about games! Just play and enjoy your games like a gamer should instead of comparing them to everything else.

I think there's a chance it could match Gears numbers, but I don't think it's going to top Halo 3. Advertising is key here. It'll sell well in its own right, though. Times like this make me wish I had a PS3 =(

Well, if the hype flying around this site is any indication, I think the game will be just fine. I don't believe I've seen this many articles about a single game ever. Thinking of that subject, if somebody can recall a game that got more online media attention, please, let me know. I'm really curious now that I thought of that. The closest I can think of would be maybe Halo 3, and I don't think it tops it.

Indeed. You could say that they could buy a 360 for those games, but Japan doesn't care for the console much, so those games will definitely sell more PS3's over there.

Well, every game is going to be broken in one way or another on release. How bad these flaws are is the issue here. Games like Gears 2 and Socom had such glaring issues at the start. Patches are great, but relying on them too heavily is bad practice.

I wish more devs could be like Valve is with patching their PC games but MS makes stuff so hard with their long approval process. On PC, TF2 gets 1-2 patches each month. It's nice to see that kind of dedication from a dev.

It's no secret that Socom was a broken mess at release. There's really no need to be in denial of that. It's been greatly patched up, and it's a much better game now for it.

Yeah, there have definitely been worse releases, but any game that releases with so many gaping flaws is inexcusable. That's what happens when your publisher rushes a release date, as I'm sure that was the case with Gears 2.

Yeah, CoDWaW has a lot of issues of its own, many just being simple design flaws and not bugs. I'd say CoD4 would be a much better replacement. I still play that game more than WaW.

Yeah, I stopped playing anything but campaign and horde shortly after release. I may pick up the online again if everything gets nicely ironed out. I need to pull myself away from Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 first, though...

Indeed, it may have started a broken mess, but at least they're making efforts to make it what it should be. The gameplay has so much potential.

UTIII is a good game, but it just doesn't seem to have the punch that UT and UT2004 did when they came out. I can't put my finger on what makes it like that, though. Maybe they're just not innovating the series enough. With games like Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2, I don't really feel the urge to play UTIII online.

I tried out the demo, and I'm actually pleasantly surprised with this game. Sure, the graphics look like it's still 2003, but the gameplay is pretty fun if medieval combat is your thing. I'd say it's worth $7.50 for sure.

I really don't think this is a grab at Killzone 2's thunder at all. I think you're just doubting KZ2 if you think MS would even think to try to pull people away from a huge release with a silly contest. Why would anyone not buy KZ2 because of a stupid little giveaway? I think Microsoft knows that. I think they're just trying to draw some people back into the game after so many left because of the bugs and exploits. Notice that it's happening directly after the title update. Kinda obvious...

Only the hardcore pay attention to news like this, though, and that's why we're on this site. The rest just want to play the game.

Yeah, I used to think CoD4 was bad at times, but after respawning in an enemy's crosshair 2 times in the first 30 minutes of playing the game, I missed CoD4's spawns. And now, I don't even play WaW, and I'm back to CoD4. It was a nice diversion, but all it really did was make me want to play CoD4 again.

Don't forget, shooters very very rarely have a long single-player mode. I think anything too much longer than CoD4's single player would start to feel dry to me.

If you played the heck out of CoD4, there's a lot of nagging little differences to the game. I'd definitely be able to tell the difference. To the average gamer, both games are probably pretty much the same with a different timeline. This is why Activision can make millions on using 2 devs.

Remember, Halo is a completely different game, though. You can't just take the net code from one game and paste it over to another. IW definitley ins't a lazy dev. I'm sure if they could patch in mid-game migrations easily, they would have done it. It wouldn't surprise me if they got it into the next game, but if they don't, I'll survive without it.

The only thing WaW has for me over CoD4 is the fact that you can use an iron sight on a bolt-action rifle. Using an ACOG on a sniper is okay, but nothing beats the iron sights for me. I just enjoy such weapons. Other than that, CoD4 all the way.

Guess they're just trying to fill in slow times. Also, they're probably trying to help promote the big fix to Gears for the bugs and exploits that drove away lots of people from the online play.
