Yeah, always take reviews with a grain of salt. What you like and what they like are never going to match. Personally, I read the article to get an idea of what I'm going into and then decide for myself.
While I'll admit KZ2 is an amazing game, I have to say that there's still 10 1/2 months left in this year. Too early to say it'll be GotY, but there's no doubt whatsoever that it'll be in the running.
To be honest, I've always liked the 5 point scale best.
5 = Must Buy
4 = Above Average
3 = Average
2 = Below Average
1 = Bleh
0 = Fail
It's much more clear cut than the 10 and 100 point scale. Plus, if 2 games fanboys are crazing over both get 5/5, you can't pick out a .2 difference or something stupid like that.
As impressed as I am with KZ2, I have to agree. There's waaayy too many articles about it on here. Well, at least they give me something to comment on while stuck at a desk at work, haha.
Or you could just play the game and completely ignore the fanboys. No need to add fuel to the fire by taunting them.
Plus, time you spend arguing with fanboys is time away from the game, right?
Well, it's true that you haven't been able to attach to cover in a full FPS game before (I say full because RB6V is half and half), but Medal of Honor Airborne had an interesting leaning system for a FPS that is kind of like a less advanced version of KZ2's. It didn't attach you to cover, but you could lean and crouch in and out of cover pretty fluently. I really liked the idea. Too bad that game was lackluster. It's nice to see that KZ2 took that a step further and put it into a game that is...
Well, it's true that many gamers just don't want to give some games a chance, but I don't think that's the case with a mainstream FPS game like KZ2.
Halo Wars, on the other hand, will probably suffer from that problem, seeing that it's a console RTS, which rarely works out.
Well, seeing that Halo doesn't really take that much skill, it wouldn't surprise me if he was actually telling the truth. It's probably one of the most noob friendly shooters ever.
Anyway, posting something like that is just asking for angry responses here anyway. Keep it to yourself. Nobody cares that you don't want the game.
Yup. KZ2 is going to be a great game. The only thing I can say against it is that it's not the most original game ever, but hey, what game these days actually is original? No reason to knock off points for it. They do a great job with what they have, and the fact that I don't have a PS3 makes me itch to play this game even more...
Yup yup, I'm 360 gamer, and I can tell they're screwy on their scores.
Right on, screw review scores. Make choices for yourself.
Well, Left 4 Dead is indeed a darn fun game, but there's no reason other good games should be so low in comparison. They fail at consistency.
Dare I say it?
I'd...tap that.
Seriously though, wtf.
I don't get why people throw a fit over a review score. It's just a stupid number. Buy your game and enjoy it. Forget the number the media throws in your face.
Nothing is really future proof, but at least Sony goes out of their way to make their consoles last as long as possible. It's miles better than MS just taking a gigantic dump on the Xbox.
Yay for lists that can't cause flame wars!
Doom would have been at the top of my list as well.
Crap, double post >.<
Well, might as well add something. I expected Half-Life to be higher on the list, but I suppose the games above it were also giants in their own rights.
Oh you mean the game you haven't played the full version of yet? I see, that one. No, I'm not saying it's bad. I'm just tired of people acting like they played the full game already.
But yeah, this game is going to rock out loud.
Seriously, imagine the money they'd make if they actually did HD remakes of such games and put them out for a reasonable price.
Sheesh, I was expecting a list of games that hardly got any media coverage or something. Pretty much all of these were pretty mainstream. Sure, they weren't blockbusters, but they weren't flops.
Really been meaning to buy Sins since I upgraded my comp...
