I'm rooting for online co-op more than anything, but any additions are more than welcome.
Steam isn't so bad to deal with. I buy pretty much all of my PC games on it these days, except the occasional game not available on it.
I've been afraid to take the beta online, since I've never been much of an online RTS guy. I usually just play the campaigns. I don't want to get whalloped by vets XD
Is it just me, or is anyone else getting tired of hearing the exact same "Thanks partner" out of Sheva every time you do something for her? I have a feeling I'll be hearing it in my sleep when the game finally comes out.
I gotta disagree about this being the ultimate co-op game. Doesn't seem like it takes nearly as much cooperation as Left 4 Dead. At least it's a nice option to have, though. I'm glad Capcom found a way to include it in the game. I can't say I agree with a lot of other decisions they made, though *cough* controls.
Anything can work fine on a PC if the controls are mapped right and it's not just a sloppy port. Also, they should just say a game controller and not a 360 controller. It's not like it's the only gamepad that works on PC.
Let's call it Action Freaky instead of Survival Horror. That's what the series is now. Games are still amazingly fun, but they just don't have the scare factor of the old days.
Yeah, the game is going to be good, updated controls or not. Change would be welcome, but oh well. Dead Space was my personal GotY for last year. It's not often that a game can make me tense like that game. FEAR was the last one before it to freak me out a bit. Horror is 100% based on creativity. You can make a game tense and frightening with any control scheme. It's just a matter of knowing how to work with what you have.
Well, the PC version wasn't bad if you had a controller, but everyone else got hosed. Good thing somebody made a mouse mod for it.
Well, seeing that it's not a twitch FPS, it can get away with the mechanics. It is an RPG after all. The other 2 points I agree with, though.
Well, I have my doubts about every console RTS, but I have faith in Ensemble. They've brought me a lot of entertainmnt over the years, so I hope they can come through again. Also, Endwar being a decent game gave me some more hope for RTS games developed directly for consoles.
I'm in the Steam beta because I bought the whole Dawn of War series on a Steam weekend deal, but I'm afraid to go online and play, because I imagine everyone that got into that one by owning Dawn of War: Soulstorm are already most likely experienced in the game. I only ever play RTS games for the single player and playing with friends, because I'm just not that great at micro.
Maybe there'll be some people like me playing when it opens up, so I can not feel so noobish, haha.
Still a few good games to be had, though. This could be great for people with financial troubles.
I want to see a HD remake of FF6. God that could be awesome. It's by far the most compelling FF story in my books. I'd also openly welcome a FF7 remake, but FF6 is on the top of my list.
FF7 is indeed overrated, but it's still an excellent game. The best thing about FF7 is that it truly brought the series mainstream in the West. My personal favorite is FF6. I think most fans of the series that have been with it from its beginnings pick 6. Just about everyone else picks 7. It seems to be the norm from what I've seen. The series has really gone downhill since then, eh? I did love FF8, even though lots of people didn't.
Nothing against the PS3, but I'm glad I wouldn't have paid that much for the first model console. It's a great console, but the original prices were outrageous. Props to your support of your preferred console, though. People like you keep these companies coming back for another generation. Cheapskates like me would be dead in the water without you, haha. =)
If I had the money for it, it would definitley be the time to buy for me. Can't lose with a deal like that.
Yeah Sibs, I just typed that down below, looked up, and saw that you said the same thing right before me. I wonder how often that's happening and how big of a chunk of the sales end up like that. It's a shame to see that happen to a great gaming platform, but at least it's another console sold I suppose.
Yeah, these good games coming out for the PS3 aren't doing nearly as well as they could. LBP and R2 could have sold so many more units. No, they deserve to sell more units. It's a shame to see such good games not meet their potential. KZ2 definitley needs the advertising so it doesn't end up having the same fate as other great PS3 games.
Makes me wonder, though. With these good games not selling as well as they could, how many people are just buying a PS3, maybe 1 or 2 games, a...
The few amazing games like this make me wish I had a Wii, but I can't justify buying one simply because such games are so few and far between.
