I agree, Gamers that never owned a Dreamcast are an abomination :)
So many younger gamers that just started this gen ... they know not what paved the way.

I agree with you in regards to the Mass Effect Universe being incorporated into a Freespace type of game. That could be EPIC with a great back story.

The first game is my favorite game this gen - followed closely by the Uncharted series.
With a lot of the technical issues from ME1 now likely corrected and 20-30 hours of EPIC gameplay and story telling - a perfect score sounds golden.
Can't wait until Tuesday.
I highly recommend you play this ASAP.
There are quite a lot of technical issues with the game, but they are more annoyances than anything else.
Story and game play are top notch so it is easy to overlook the technical problems (Long elevator loading, texture pop-in and stuttering frame rate).
ME2 appears to have corrected all of these issues though :)

More Mass Effect is a good thing and the more DLC they sell the better chance of having more games on this quality released for us gamers.

Mass Effect, Dragon Age, etc, are very lengthy games in their own right so having DLC on launch day is not that big a deal. This is especially true if the DLC is just armor, weapons, etc.
However, if the game was only 4-5 hours and the DLC is new levels, then we truly have a problem and I agree with those above me.
I'm also not forced to buy either - but this is ME so I will :)
I was referring to Mass Effect 1, but I should just be able to install ME2 to the 360 hard drive and never need to switch disks.
At least I hope I can do this.

Mass Effect is a pretty big game, so I would not be worried about the 6.8GB size.
I hope Mass Effect 2, Alan Wake, Heavy Rain, or another single player experience wins the award.

I would like to see Single Player and Multiplayer separated.
$30 for each. This would be great for both types of gamers. Some only want single play and other only want multi.
For those who want both, the price is the same as the current games.

Let me make it perfectly clear - I do not want PC gaming dead - far from it. Count me as one of those millions and millions waiting for Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2. These are the games that WILL get me back into PC gaming.
I should have said PC Gaming has turned into the Blizzard show. That is not a bad thing, but does limit genre choice.
Direct download is the future and I welcome it, but ...
I cannot dispute your comment about Mass Effect 2. PC will definitely have the best version, BUT great PC games are very few and far between.
Sure the PC tech is better, but it's not like Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 look bad on a 52" 1080P TV and 7.1 surround :)
Why is every retailer reducing PC game space and inventory while console space is increased year after year.
What were the sales numbers for PC version of MW2 compared to console? I hate playing sales, but in this case it just shows that hardcore PC Gamers are a dying breed.
The writing is on the wall, PC gaming has died and transformed into the MMO or the latest Barbie Adventure - at least that is what PC sales numbers indicate.

PS3 gave me Uncharted 1 & 2, MGS4, and LBP to name a few. NO video card can run those games, because you can't play them on PC.
360 gave me Mass Effect BEFORE PC version was released.
So what have PS360 given me? Only some of the best gaming in years that is all.

I agree with you though that grenades and some hit detection issues need to be fixed.
When getting shot and you turn into a building away from any line of sight and you are still getting hit with bullets - WTF.
Even with these things considered - I love the multiplayer in this game.
