Oh I agree with you. I remember Balders Gate, KOTOR and the like back in the day and I wished I had the patience to play those games because I knew they were stellar titles.
I too would love to see a classic Bioware title made because I may have the patience now to play them.
I personally welcome this change. I always wanted to like traditional RPG's because of the rich stories but the micro management drove me crazy.
Mass Effect 1 & 2 made the RPG more accessible and I am now hooked. With that said, I can understand why RPG purists would be upset. I feel the same way with Platformers, err what Platformars?
Oh Sweet Justice I Hope So!
No, I am not above this game or any other for that matter. I'm just tired of so many games catering to 12 year old boys in dialogue and humor. And yes, KZ2 was also guilty of this, which was annoying.
Anyways, I'm just feeling salty today.
I guess it's funny if your 12 years old.
Why is this game getting so much attention?
The game demo I played was average at best, but then again I have Killzone in a week or so.
Devils advocate:
If I wanted to build this from scratch, where is the OS in the price structure? I only want a licensed and legal copy. I also need a monitor, mouse and KB.
Not exactly $484 anymore.
I guess if you already have these "other" pieces then $484 it is. Maybe the article is only aimed and existing PC Gamers.
I respect your opinion, but Mass Effect series is my choice for best this Gen.
The story was good and kept me interested, but the gameplay was too repetitive.
I felt I was always in the woods in the dark. They were good looking woods though.
I hope they expand the gameplay a little for a sequel.
I absolutely agree. There is nothing like the anticipation of a new console launch and getting one on launch day.
Life is short, enjoy what you can WHEN you can do it.
I make a good income and I enjoy the nicer things in life.
Early adopters usually have money so they do not think about pricing in the future - they want the latest and greatest NOW :)
I am a proud early adopter of every console. If a revised version comes out that is better, like the 360 slim, then I upgrade at that time. No biggie.
I also buy collectors editions of games too. Killzone 3 Helghast Edition Baby!
I hope not, I was bored in 5 minutes with the demo
Vudu is fantastic!
I just wish I could purchase a Vudu gift card to add to my account so I don't have to charge my credit card every time.
Does Walmart sell these - since they own Vudu?
Oh well no biggie :)
I love VUDU. The best movie streaming service out there.
Some may think the price is a bit high at $5.99 for the HDX 1080P rental, but they can always rent the 720P or 480P movie versions for $4.99 and $3.99 respectively, which is the same as PSN/Xbox Marketplace.
I only wish they had VUDU point/Gift Cards to apply to my account.
So people should buy a PS3 - problem solved.
No thanks, I'll take Mass Effect 2 on my 55" LED TV with 7.1 surround on my Pioneer Elite/Klipsh setup over a 24" PC monitor and computer speakers. I'll also be comfy in my reclining couch while I play.
Yes, I could hook my PC up to my theater system, but that would make my theater look like ass.
With the exception of Blizzard, PC gaming is a relic of the past.
I agree with the author. The video is superb for a streaming service and no buffering or pauses is great. $5.99 for the HDX rental is not bad in my opinion, since many of these movies I never saw in the theater and if I had, the cost would have been over $20 for two tickets.
The same movie can be rented in non-HDX HD for $4.99 which is the same as PSN or Xbox Live.
Isn't there a $100 price difference as well? Cheaper bundle is always going to be more attractive in a tough economy.
It also goes to show that in America at least, consumers are slaves to marketing and trends. It's sad really.
Anyways, kudos to Microsoft for doing what they do best. So, when will this motion thing go away?
I really dislike motion gaming in general - it's like being at the gym in January when all the weekend warri...
That video is complete bogus.
I have played both version and they LOOK IDENTICAL with one small adjustment. Move the brightness slider one notch down on the PS3 version and they look the same. Colors everything looks the same. No need for Full RGB which crushes the blacks anyway.
The game engine on both systems has some technical issues that need to be addressed. Sound issues and enemy pop-in to name just a couple.
