I agree. My interest in this title kind of wavered after hearing about how it was supposedly inferior on the PS3, and full of glitches. This review spiked my interest again.
It also spiked my interest in Branston Pickle...whatever that is.
I think Killzone 2 could definitley be a console seller in the US. It could at least get some 360 owners to buy the PS3 as well. It won't do as much as FF, but it could sell a good amount (assuming it's good, which it seems to be from people's beta impressions).
Everyone loves shooters in the US, and it doesn't look like MS will have anything to go head to head with Killzone. It's probably the best looking console game so far, and proves the potential of the PS3 as well. Plus Son...
I don't think any of that is true globally. I don't have worldwide figures, but the PS3 is doing pretty good everywhere else.
Also, I'm not sure the 360 even sells for a profit at this point. With all the RROD'd consoles they have to fix, they are spending quite a bit anyway. I don't think anyone but Microsoft knows what they are really making on the 360.

It shouldn't come at a price though. NXE was supposed to be a free upgrade. I'm sure there are a bunch of people who paid for quite a few themes. I'd be pretty pissed. I mean buying themes in the first place is pretty ridiculous, but having them basically turn to nothing after the update would piss me off.

I think that has been basically confirmed. Treyarch did COD5, so it's Infinity Ward's turn again (they did COD4).
They'll probably use the same engine, and I'm sure the story and concepts have already been completed. Treyarch made COD5 about a year after COD4, so it wouldn't be surprising to see COD6 by the end of next year.

I was really disappointed in Far Cry 2 though. I guess I got on the hype train and about half way through it got derailed. It wasn't exactly what the reviews made it out to be. I guess its just another case of hype influencing scores.
It was a great technical achievment and the missions were fun (before they became repetitive), but the world was just annoying.
Fallout 3 is multiplatform...
And Fallout has had the same or even more hype than LBP. I've seen far more Fallout ads, and I think some of LBP's hype was lost in the delay.
Edit: Oh, ok. Still, those are just US numbers (which the 360 obviously dominates). I think LBP will do good globally (probably not better than Fallout, but good). I really think the economy is partially to blame. People can't afford all the good games, so they go with what they know they'll like...
I'm not a big fan of fighters either, and as soon as this was announced I had no interest in it whatsoever. The last MK game I played got really old fast, and the inclusion of DC in this game feels like they are trying to cash in on two established franchises.
If they were going to include DC (which is pretty obscure) they should have gone even farther, bringing more characters in. I guess I just don't understand the cross over.

I'm sorry, but Ico is way above Halo. It's a game that bridges gaming and art. They really shouldn't be compared. I realize you didn't bring it up, but they aren't on the same level.
Also the general populace hasn't played Ico, and sales don't make a game great. I consider Ico one of the greatest games ever. Halo is just a great FPS series.
Give me a break with that. MGS4 is a good length game. It is longer than seven hours on a REAL play through. Just because someone can do a speed run at under 4 hours doesn't mean its a 4 hour game. How long is Halo in a speed run?
MGS4 is meant to be played slow. It's a stealth game for fudges sake.

I also feel this game won't age well on the 360. It's basically just the same game played over and over but with friends (as far as I know, I only played the PC demo). It's fun, but without the new levels and mods like the PC version will get, I'm not sure it will last very long.
Maybe being a zombie will add some longevity to it, I don't know. I only played the demo level and half a co-op game (I have no idea why, but I couldn't connect to any game). I guess I just wish the dem...

On the other hand, multiplayer can give you some of the most epic moments in a game. Other human players are unpredictable and smarter than NPCs. They can cause pretty awesome things to happen.
Eight days looks like it could be a pretty awesome multiplayer game. If they do revive it, I hope they add that feature in (as long as it isn't tacked on, and doesn't take anything away from single player). Personally, it is hard to justify the purchase of a single player only game, unless...

They can alter the story line and still make a good Zelda game though. Majora's Mask has a very different story and is still an epic game. It also starred the same character from Ocarina.
The fans already got the regular Zelda story, so I think its fair to assume that Nintendo will change it up for the next game. They'll probably remove Ganondorf as the villain and do an original story.
Ganon is definitley in Wind Waker. Well Ganondorf anyway (which I guess is the name for his human form). I think that's what he meant though.
But, yeah. I agree that a storyline like Majora's Mask would be welcome.
I actually hope they do cell shaded. I didn't like the look of Twilight at all. It was very dark (from what I've seen, I haven't played it yet). I'd prefer the wind waker style. It's brighter and more cheerful, and the game could be bigger/more varied if they didn't push the graphics. I'd rather have a longer, more stylized game.
Hopefully they remove the whole sailing element though. That got pretty boring. Also, Epona definitley needs to be in the game.
What are your "numerical facts?" You haven't presented anything... Are you going to give me a link to Metacritic? The scores on metacritic seem to be pretty equal to me. Both consoles have about 7 (real) exclusives in the top 20. I guess I just fail to see were you get your "facts" from. Besides, review scores are just other people's opinions, so they hardly qualify as facts anyway.
From the way it has been hyped I was kind of expecting a pretty solid launch. I mean Microsoft was practically whoring NXE out.
I doubt this is as widespread as people think though. 2.4 didn't effect many people and got crazy amounts of press (even though Sony didn't quite advertise it as much as MS has advertised NXE), so I wouldn't be surprised if this is only a small fraction of 360 owners. I guess we'll find out soon.
