The publisher and developer don't exactly have good track records (the title of that game makes me think the publisher has horrible judgment as well). Sonarus is right to be pessimistic.
Also, its not a 360 exclusive, so I don't know why people automatically assume his opinion is a fanboy reaction.

I don't think much is known about the overall plot. It looks like a virus broke out, and you're somehow specially immune or were experimented on. Whichever scenario somehow gives you special powers. You also apparently have amnesia.

It's also cross country skiing, which is the least fun type. You probably just move your hands back and forth to simulate pushing yourself forward. It sounds like a nightmare.
The sport barely warrants a small mini-game on any Olympic sports title (all of which I hate anyway). Why they decided to make a whole game around it, I can't imagine.
I actually think that SafeCracker game could be interesting. It's obviously not going to be, but it's an interesting concept that could go well with the Wiimote's motion sensing. It has a totally ridiculous concept and plot, but it could be fun if the puzzles are done right. I mean they made a game out of only doing surgery, and that turned out pretty good.
The others just look like terrible ideas in general.

I'll buy good movies on Bluray because the quality is far superior and I can watch it as many times as I want. I don't actually use the PSN movie service (for a number of reasons), but I'm sure other people do.
When I think Braid I just think unique, and PSN has plenty of unique games as well. PJ Eden is the first thing that comes to mind. It is definitley different then other games, and I found it to be very enjoyable.
Games like that make it hard for me to understand why people think the line up is weak. I'm all about quality over quantity anyway (I can't afford every single game that comes out, anyway).
Most of these are really just up to the publishers. As for old games, I don't really care for them. I got Street Fighter Alpha, and I won't make a mistake like that again. I'd prefer remakes or games made specifically for PSN. The only way I'll buy another PS1 game is if its something I missed out on (Blood Omen comes to mind).
I don't think I'd ever buy an old Sonic game, but I'd love an HD remake/sequel. I'm pretty sure that's the only way Sega will make a good Sonic game anyw...

I assume the Chimera are also the property of Sony though. It's not like FEAR where its just dudes in black. The Chimera are all uniquely designed and I'm sure ripping them off would be copyright infringement. Sony probably own all the weapons as well. I assume that's just common business practice.
Even the plot probably can't be copied without a lawsuit. An alternate reality where aliens invade instead of WWII probably couldn't be done, at least not with any other similarities....
I suppose it's a possibility, but I don't see it happening. MS dropped what? 50 million on GTA DLC? How much do you think they'll pay for one of the most recognized games on the 360?
MS really can't afford to lose this franchise. When you think xbox you think either Halo or Gears. Kicking one of those legs out from under MS would not end well. There is no way in hell they would let Gears go.

I'm sorry, what do you see in 2009 for the xbox? I see plenty of games coming for the PS3, so I don't really think Sony needs help from an alien species. All I see for the 360 is a Ninja Gaiden ripoff, a Halo RTS and expansion, and some 360/PC multiplatform games.
You can all whine about sales, but all I care about is games. I see those games coming down the pipeline on the PS3 side. If you're happy with the 360's lineup, or have faith that MS will have a ton of surprise announc...

Either way, GTA was extremely over hyped, didn't deserve the scores it got and definitley isn't the best game so far this gen.
LBP is a great game, and I think it deserves the 9-10's.
As for the article, I was in the beta and I can't wait to get it. The economy is what is preventing me from doing so. If I could afford any games at the moment, that's the first one I'd get.

You're right I should just sell my PS3 and buy a 360 and Gears 2 because they sell more in the US. Thank you for saving me from having fun with the games I enjoy, and getting me to buy things based on what other people buy.

If you are trying to compare Gears 1 sales with LBP sales, they are completely different genres, Gears had a larger ad campaign, Gears appealed to the 360 fan base more (while LBP is often thought of as "kiddie" even though it isn't), and I'm fairly certain Gears didn't go up against a line up like we have this year.

I really don't think Halo had anything to do with it. I could believe the death star had something to do with it (ISA had a defense satellite in the 1st game, so it could be some weird tip of the hat), but I really don't think Guerilla would look to rip anything off ...
I don't know the exact laws, but I'm fairly certain celebrities (including politicians) are exempt from copyright laws. In the case of Mario, Link, etc I think there is enough of a difference for them to be unique.
These are just likenesses anyway. There aren't any logos or any other copyrighted material on the avatars. Using photos of game characters and other copyrighted material is different from trying to make a character using your own means.

Street Fighter would be $16.17 if I purchased it. The listed price is $14.99, but that's without tax. I live in NJ if that makes a difference. Also, I have an empty wallet, so I'd be adding the exact amount to on my card.
