I don't see how Home and NXE are comparable. If I want the PS3 to do what the NXE does I'll just use the XMB. I can launch games, chat with friends, go on the PS Store, etc. all from the XMB. Home is just a place to meet people. If you don't like it, don't use it.
And why the hell would anyone want Sony to charge for their online service? They are doing a hell of a job and doing it for free. I really don't see how paying for XBL makes it any better. Most network issues are caused...

Don't take that sh!t back, this guy is an idiot. I can understand not liking the creation part of the game, but he is pretending to be a games journalist. It is obvious that he barely spent anytime with that part of the game at all, and he definitely didn't publish anything. How can he comment on hating a game when he hasn't even experienced all of it?
He also complains about one of the levels breaking on him. OMG! He had to quit out of it! Has he even played the user made levels...
No seriously, DinoLand is my level. And I don't think it's that bad for my first attempt (during the Beta). Honestly Idon't think it should be in any top 10 though. I saw a lot of better ones in the Beta. Heist and Sky Pirates come to mind. Mine just had a lot of views because I published it early on, and a lot of hearts because everyone loves Dinosaurs.
These levels are old now though, and I'm sure there are a lot of better ones (like the R-type level, for example).
They should just bring back the quality seal, and put it on the good games. That way the bad devs can still make crap, and Nintendo can moderate without alienating.
You can't drop all the crap on WiiWare. The Wii already has a storage problem, it would make finding the good games impossible (so everyone would ignore it entirely),and I don't think that's really solving the problem.

I'm sure the contest rules state that anything submitted in the contest automatically belongs to Sony. You often sign ownership rights away for things like this.
Either way, it isn't really the same. They may have been inspired by it (although I doubt it), but they are different enough to not be infringing copyright (which the author probably doesn't own anyway). The DLC costumes were probably made ahead of time anyway.
I honestly hope they move away from Snake all together. Maybe keep one or two characters from the previous games (like Otacon) and start with a new protagonist. I'd like it if they kept the same time period so we'd keep octocamo, but I'm sure they could find a similar way to camouflage the main character in any time period. Bluray is way better quality video (and audio) than anything streamed over the internet. Getting bluray by mail is easier than driving to a store, and cheaper than actually buying the movie.
Seems like a pretty good idea to me. I'm not saying streaming is useless though. Everyone has different priorities so some will want to see it now rather than wait for the better quality. Plus Netflix offers both.
I was playing it on my PS3 through Linux. Pretty awesome game. I stopped near the end due to the great games coming recently, but it's definitley a game I want to finish. It has a pretty great story, and some twists I've never seen before.
Maybe I'll get it for my DS. I haven't played that for a while.
If they make another Legacy of Kain game they better not fvck it up. I love that series, and would hate to see it turn to trash. And they better not have any DLC either (except maybe a costume or something). LoK's story has always been pretty great, and I'd hate to see parts of it omitted for some DLC later on.
1. You don't have to run everywhere. You can warp at any time.
2. The pool, bowling, chess are fun because you play against actual people and not NPCs. The mistakes people make aren't pre-programmed.
3. It was made for meeting people. They didn't show that you can launch games from Home with the people you met there. You could play someone in pool and then jump into Warhawk, for example.

I'll get it eventually anyway, but trophies could have made this game so much better. I don't find playing by myself very fun, especially if there is no reason to do so (besides learning a character). With trophies I would actually be striving for something while playing, beyond just winning. They definitley should have been included in this game.

They also removed a lot of the stuff for the server load testing. The game rooms, which I thought were one of the coolest features, where removed, and the mall has been emptied out. There are a bunch of other things missing, or that I have yet to find, as well. I remember videos showing the ability to drive RC boats, and those aren't there either.

Chess needs a little work. The chess piece models are kind of hard to differentiate because they are very simplistic. I played yesterday and got totally owned because I kept confusing pieces (also, I suck at chess).
Poker would be awesome. I don't think that's in Home at the moment though. They could make a Home Casino or something.
