Had it launched alongside the PS4 and X1 it would've suffered just as the WiiU did. Obviously it would've sold better due to it being a handheld. In fact Matt Piscatella thinks most hybrid gamers are purchasing more games on consoles than PCs due to the division caused by Epic. I agree console sales have been far more aggressive this gen. maybe the SP portion of Halo might run at 120 FPS on Series X. No way the MP runs at a higher framerate than the lesser systems. See gen 8 refreshes as examples. The difference between the series X and 1X versions will be the key for MS's success.

There is no forthcoming PS5 Pro. It took 3 Titans to render Witcher 3 at 8K last year on PC. $100 extra on top of a PS5 ain't gonna cut it. If we use the PS4 Pro as an example, then games running on a PS5 Pro won't increase framerates anyway. So what's the point? To play SP games uprezzed on TVs that still cost $5000? Focus on 4K and price - put out a slim in 3 years n call it a day.

Rain - what you're forgetting is the Share button. Don't tell me the social gaming aspect wasn't a huge part of what they intended. The camera is an integral part of that equation and yes the camera was going to be included. Once they saw MS get manhandled on gaming sites they dropped its inclusion. Remember though both systems were going to be a lot closer at launch. Randy Pitchford, among others, advised Sony to increase system RAM to 8 GB instead of 4. They went back to Toshiba and the 4 GB modules had become available for mass production. They were lucky in this case.
