I think movie sets are a whole other ballgame. Game devs, like CDPR, can work from home far more easily.
Besides, they already said they were delaying 'because they want everyone to play at the same time and that there's a problem with logistics'. That doesn't sound like production problems on their end, like with the movies etc,. If they had staff issues it'd have been easier to say that, imho.
To me, 'everyone playing at the s...
Nothing unreasonable about what you said at all but I'd just point out that, in their own words, they said the delay 'was so that as many people as possible could play it at the same time'. They also mentioned logistics. I didn't pull the hard-copies in the shops thing out of thin air ;)
So I don't think staff issues are the problem. If the game can't be finished in time, then they wouldn't be worried about having everyone experience it togeth...
Yeah, I'd wait a little longer for the 60fps too.
Omg, stop this crazy talk!
It's like you're hoping that one day they'll be some kind of magical system where we can get our copies through pipes, wires or even radiowaves of some kind! It's like you want the games to just get sucked straight into our consoles.....absurd!
Well, the announcement said 'we want to make sure everyone can play at around the same time'.
I'm guessing that it's a combination of:
1: not knowing when everyone the world over can go to the shops and buy hard copies
2: deliveries to said shops won't be able to go as planned in time for the release date - even if the lockdowns are ended in time globally. I suppose that would be at least some of the logistics par...
Why are people using words like cancellation now? And acting like it won't be released this year? It was bad enough with 'delayed indefinitely'. Stop the pointless, childish drama.
It hasn't been delayed 'indefinitely', it'll 'definitely' be released once people can go out to the shops to buy it in order to maximise profits and that's gonna be sometime this year. So gaming in 2020 doesn't look any different than it did before,...
Heh, good point. I still can't believe we sometimes hear the old 'no real difference thing'.
When people get 60fps on their consoles next-gen, they'll start talking about how smooth it is in comparison then they'll never want to go back :)
Turn-based combat and base building? Zombie apocalypse XCOM? Got me interested :)
Yeah, the first one was a classic!
I agree.
Amnesia, Alien Isolation and Outlast are three of the best I've played in terms of pure horror. There are probably a few others but they're not springing to mind right now.
We'll get other 3rd person RE games in the future so I like that we can have the change in perspective to FPP now and then.
Oh god, anything but the tank controls! ;)
Do your best to avoid spoilers.
As long as it feels survival horror then I'm not fussed.
Besides, I'm guessing it's still a bio-weapon/mutation type thing, not supernatural.
There's the occult, hallucinations, insanity and 'trust' mentioned. I'm guessing the anti-bioweapons team hear reports of disturbances and go to investigate in a remote mountain community. When they get there they find the drug addled local villagers/occultists worshiping beastmen that ...
Yes, I don't think people need to worry and fixate on the term 'werewolf'. I doubt they're going to go all supernatural.
The article even talks about the occult and hallucinations so I think it'll all be based on sci-fi/biological explanations. Probably a bunch of mutants worshiped by the local populace.
Yeah, I know right? What's in a name and why the fuss?
They're probably bio-engineered 'beastmen' and maybe the superstitious locals call them werewolves, therefore Chris and other agents go to check it out.
I mean, the exact difference won't really matter when you're trying to take them down while conserving ammo and green herbs ;)
Yeah, but what is the 'RE we all know and love'?
For some it's the 3rd person isometric and for others it's the 3rd over the shoulder. Some would say it must have zombies and Umbrella Corp.
This is fine by me, we've had two zombie filled remakes in two years so I'm willing to try something new.
Thing is, we can't keep saying that anything without zombies, or done in FPP or that is a bit more action oriented 'isn't RE and so the series is dead'.
It's been over 20 years. There has to be some experimentation.
The key to Resident Evil is that it's survival horror. If it fits that categor...
So.....Someday isn't coming because of Covid and will return someday when its gone? Got it.
Omg, is that what the article is about? Thanks for saving me the time, I almost clicked on the link expecting gameplay discussion. I guess for people like this talking about gameplay isn't important, it's all about identity politics, etc..
Never understood the problem with RE5 in that regard. They're looking at the themes in the game through the most distorted, cynical lense...unbelievable.
Mate, that's only because they're not certain when the virus situation will calm down. You can disagree, but I don't see the virus lasting into the next year in a way that prevents the games release.
Therefore, whilst the exact date is unknown, it's safe to say it'll release at some point this year and claims that it won't release this year are bollocks, imho.
I get what you're saying with the basic interpretation of the term ...
