Well, I love XCOM and the turn-based genre so scores of 7-8/10 for a game that's currently less than £10 and has 20 hours of campaign seems pretty good to me. If the difficulty setting is finely tuned and works well with the game's equivalent of Ironman mode, the game'll give even more hours to complete and be more tense too:)

I wonder, how many of these mechanics are going to be used in XCOM 3?

That's a great combo, imho.

Doom 3 may not have felt like the 2 originals but was a great horror fps in its own right. Dark, creepy atmosphere with a ton of jump-scares, even if many were a bit cheeky and cheap :) The initial build up in the beginning was fantastic too.

Dead Space needs no introduction. One of my all-time fav series and yes, I loved much of number 3 too ;)

Even more interested in this title now.

Looks impressive, especially so given that it's a team of just 15 devs. Hope they succeed in their vision and that we all get a great soulslike.

Seriously?! Dayumm.

Out of curiosity, what is your fave design for both consoles?

I think the console looks much better than the controller.

I felt Man of Medan was ok but that Until Dawn was significantly better. Obviously UD had a bigger budget and was a larger game but then maybe they should stick to that format rather then these smaller, bite-sized stories?

Either way, I'm hoping for a bit more from this next one.

Agreed.

I would also argue that Rare suffers from simply not being the same company it used to be in terms of staff and vision, similar in some ways to the decline of Bioware.

If they want to big up a UK company there are better ones to choose from nowadays.

Oh, I would have expected something a bit more, I don't know, 'neon', in order to pay homage to Night City and its vibe.

It's all down to personal taste, of course, but I wouldn't describe it as amazing.....it's basically half silver and half black with some almost imperceptible writing :s

They should have designed some after those four posters that described the basic Cyberpunk styles.

@shaggy2303

That's interesting, I never stopped to think about that - about the way the gorgeous graphics ended up limiting the sheer anarchy and variety in gameplay possibilities.

I wonder whether the destructibility will be kept intact for the remaster?

Such a great game, good to see it getting some love :)

Heh, yeah, always makes me think, 'If it bleeds, we can kill it'.

Yeah, I'm gonna get physical but I'm fine with people getting their digital version on the original release date.

Seems selfish to stop people getting something they're excited about and looking forward too. Who am I to say they should wait on my account?

I really don't understand this, 'If I can't have it now, then you can't either!', attitude. Sounds like jealousy to me :s

I'm not worried about sp...

Personally, I'm getting the physical copy but they should release digitial.

Who am I to say that others shouldn't be able to play asap, just because I'll have to wait? Especially at a time people might be stuck indoors or need a lift in spirits.

Reminds me of that bit in Curb Your Enthusiasm where they argue about who is the selfish one at lunch because the really hungry one gets their food first but his friend expects him to wait until his o...

As far as I'm aware it was mentioned, during the Horizon Dawn announcement, that 1st party exclusives coming to PC wouldn't happen day one - at least not in the near future.

My best guess is 6 months minimum but probably 1-2 years will be the norm.

Cool, I'll happily play through this again with 60fps and mods :)

It's probably some Darwinian test where he'll cull his herd of employees by firing anyone who uses it. He's gotta amuse himself somehow while he's stuck at home ;)

2119d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yeah? I never got around to that one. Would you say it's a lot better than 8? If so I might give it a go.

I think waypoints are a matter of convenience and should always be an option, not something done away with entirely.

However, while implementing them, it's nice if they make sense thematically and are as unobtrusive as possible. GTA gps makes sense, as does a compass for a hiker, for example.

I agree, THAT would have been a cash grab, not the remake with all the effort that's been put in to create something that feels new, whilst retaining the spirit of the original.

I really don't understand why some people think a simple HD version would have been amazing, let alone sell well.

I played, and loved, the original. I squeezed every drop of gameplay out of it; unlocked Knights of the Round, did all the optional bosses etc.....but still, ...

Jesus, we need to get everyone on board with the nomenclature before a proper discussion can be had :s I say this;

Remaster = mechanics stay the same except for ease of use changes, improvement in visuals, sound etc.

Examples: Last of Us PS4 and RE4 HD PC,

Remake = Substantial alteration of major parts of the game in terms of mechanics and levels in addition to graphics etc.

Examples: RE2R, RE3R and now.....FFVIIR...
