Read the Issac Asimov novels: The Caves of Steel, The Naked Sun, and The Robots of Dawn. Pretty much exactly the same thing. Great books. I like the Connor storyline the best because of this. Still haven't finished yet though.
I would love this. I personally preferred Oblivion to Skyrim, I thought the guild side quests were significantly better. While I would be pleased with a Fallout game in the vein of New Vegas, I'd prefer an ES6 or a new game with their signature open world style (like Starfield).

The direction the industry has been going in, for years now (release first, patch later, also DLC), I'm surprised no video game journalists don't have a re-review section on their sites. For instance, this is what we thought then and this is what we think now.
Not the greatest list. Definitely agree with TLOU 2 and Smash, Gears of War as well, but at number 1?... The title should reflect that this is an opinion article instead of an article gauging general interest; "Our Top 5" or "My Top 5" would be more suitable.
Gonna have to disagree with you there. The Last of Us has better pacing (due to the game being linear, makes it way easier). God of War does an amazing job of taking that pacing and applying it to a semi open world experience, which works really well, but still kinda hinders the pacing (unless you go straight through and don't do any of the side stuff).

Well, I can definitely understand where you're coming from. It's difficult to be able to simply forgive a company for screwing you over. I'm in the same boat as you, I love single player games, mainly with strong story aspects. By finding any kind of success in the industry, you'll immediately find another company that replicates what you've done, of which there are countless examples.

If you want my honest opinion, I think that Microsoft being successful in what it's doing this generation is bad for the industry. It sets a precedent that can be followed for future success and I hope not to see anything like this again. Is Sunset Overdrive good? I'm sure it is. Is it worth $360+ dollars (because I'd have to buy a console along with it)? Probably not. Most games aren't.

This is honestly the reason I haven't gotten the XBO (I usually pick up all 3 consoles in a generation).
