Let us all drop our flamethrowers and agree-
"HOLY **** THIS GAME LOOKS AWESOME OMG NEW INFO I'M SO HAPPY!"

See? Something we can all get behind! Seriously though, this title does need to be one disc because (at least from previews) you're supposed to be able to visit most any planet at any time. You'd wind up doing a lot of swapping that way.

Plus, they should be rendering all their cutscenes in-engine with a beautiful game like this, so space s...

Because Warner won't fund them?
-Microsoft demands massive proceeds from the movie. Which oddly enough is good- a studio has to want the movie based on concept, because they're not going to make terribly much money off it.
-MS is demanding total creative control, meaning the studio can't totally rewrite everything like DOOM did. Bungie and Peter Jackson will have virtually unlimited control over the movie once it does enter production.

Most studios hate both of th...

What this article really says is that 360 has 38 more games above an 80% average than PS3 does. How is that good news for PS3?

For example- If Sony only had one game out, and that one game was rated 80%, that would make it the best console ever in the whole world? What sense would that make?

Add in Wii, and you've got a killer argument for mass appeal. Wii is outselling PS3 in multiples, and we all know it has mostly crap games.... crap games that are perfect fun...

Obviously, evidence is incompatible with fanboys.

Er, Sony fans scoff but:
"Nobody is concerned anymore about backwards compatibility."

Remember about a year later when all of a sudden Phil Harrison was commenting that backwards compatibility really WASN'T as big as they thought, and that the scaled-back Euro support made more sense? Whoops.

And for the billionth time:
This is just a demo, this code could be old or even non-existant in development by now. Insert massive grain of salt.

"MS has some cool announcements about Live that impress "some" people."

Yeah, I mean just Halo 3, Blue Dragon, Lost Oddyssey, Fable 2, potential games like Gears of War 2...

Nintendo only has Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros, Metroid, and probably a new Zelda...

Psshh... just write-offs

GameStop *claimed* to have Xmillion pre-orders, but according to one site, that meant that each store in the chain would have had to average over 1,000 pre-orders (again, per store). That's just a bit unrealistic.

But pre-orering 4million at large wouldn't be so surprising.

Halo 2 cleared $125 million in its first day.
This estimate may be conservative, indeed. It'll be interesting to see how this all pans out, what with Halo not having an extra push from the ramp up to Christmas, and with everyone questioning hardware sales.

Halo 2 also came out after Xbox was well-established, and having already had Halo on the same console. There's a whole extra level to considering how it will do now that a lot of people will be thinking about the relat...

Good to see Sony's eating their words on rumble.
Of course, all the execs (including Harrison) are trying to pretend they knew rumble was critical and that it would make a return and all. I'd almost be willing to bet they'll even release one of their now-famous statements soon where they'll try to claim they invented rumble before anyone else anyway. (see also: motion control, wii sports bowling, 2 SKUs, having a hard drive in a home console... all things tehy lambasted on other consol...

They can sell 5million copies without anyone yet seeing the game?
That sounds almost like how Sony can sell 5million consoles without anyone seeing any actual games there either!

*da-dum-chhh*

Speaking of which... what good do price drops really do for Sony? They're still losing a ton of money per console, and if they drop $100, they'd probably be back to losing $200/console. They're currently running a game attach rate that at last glace was just topping 2 games/console. Even assuming they get 100% of that money (which they absoltuely don't), they're still losing quite a bit for every console sold. Faster sales would just mean they'd be losing money even faster. And Sony corp is h...

Also- looking at the consoles in their current state, maybe you can draw parallels... if you don't have any broader perspective whatsoever. When Xbox launched, NOBODY expected it would actually look like a leader in only its second iteration. Sony, on the absolutely opposite end, has virtually fallen off the face of the earth.

Oh, but just give PS3 more time.
Ten or twelve years from now, it's so going to dominate.

Yeah... fun article, but it's pretty freakin' far from gaming.

Yup, a classic Sony troll develops, baby-step by step. In sequence:
-He trashes Bungie.
-He announces PS3 is the lead development platform for Haze.
-He says they're able to do wonderful things with PS3 that they can do with no other console, making the choice to go to PS3 only natural.
-BUT he didn't want to partner with French developer Ubisoft and develop on the PS3 at all! He was forced into it by the evil British Empire!

Also, and I know the dead horse is pulp by now:
It's a beta. If there are issues, the whole idea is that the developer can go in and fix/tweak things more to players' liking. He didn't like the beta, cool. That means there's a lot for Bungie to improve on and draw him in. Maybe he won't wind up liking the full game- heck, lots of people don't like Halo in the first place.

But people are reviewing the beta like it's the 100% definitive word on exactly what every single as...

Personally, I don't like the new Metroids. Or Zeldas. Or Marios.
I don't like any of the 3d translations for these games, and I want the old games back. That's why I do like New SMB and the like games for handheld systems- I love that gameplay.

Super Mario 64? Hated it. Sunshine? Hated it. Galaxy? Will probably hate it. Put out a new 2d Mario on DS? I'll probably love it. And it's the same with Metroid. I absolutely looove Super Metroid, can't stand any of the 3d version...

Tons of people immedaitely blurted out "h3 look exactly like Halo2" when the beta hit, and vids like these are a response to that showing these these statements are wildly false.

It shouldn't be necessary, and yet it is.

They're totally different art styles. It's been said a million times- Halo can only ever reach a certain level of graphics, because it will always be very clean and almost comic-book-ish in a certain way. Halo 3 is basically the ultimate evolution of that. It's "clean" sci-fi taken to the max.

Examples: You don't see pores on characters' skin... because the characters aren't showing any/much skin. You don't see a lot of grime encrusting all over everything because tha...
