Actually, Nintendo DS is driving the car, Wii is riding shotgun, 360 and PS2 are sharing the backseat, Xbox 1 is in the luggage rack, and PS3 is fighting Game Boy Advance for who gets to sneak into the trunk. Heh.
The point is that they do NEED it. Heh.
360 has always maintained the farandaway highest attach rates relative to both games and accessories. They want the headset to talk on Live. They want the extra controllers to play multiplayer. And they have to get each new major title because they have to get online immediately any play it with their friends. It's really pretty astounding. I'm sure a lot of companies are going to try to riddle this one out.
Yeah, this is pretty sad. As with other people, I like Soul Calibur for *gasp* the fighting. When I want to fap to it, I'll crank up the 4chan. Heh.
Hey, at least I keep it private. -ish.
Both Microsoft
-AND SONY-
*cough*
-AAAANNNND.... SSOOOONNNYYYYY!!!!-
...plan on moving to download and on-demand services in the near future. Why in the world Sony has so much staked in BluRay is a mystery. Look at WarHawk for a quick example- most people will be downloading it. And it won't be the first. In fact, it's not. PSN has a few other games going that route in the near future.
They both WILL be obsolete in 5 y...
GOTY? Whether it's GTAIV, Halo 3, or Mass Effect, 360 ftw! heh.
Seriously, though- Mass Effect looks totally badass. Even the prequel novel is pretty decent. If this game is even anywhere near as good as KOTOR, I'm hooked.
And yes, graphics = shiny.
This will be the canonical case of great graphics turning a solid game idea into something that's beyond cool. Hope it all turns out!
Microsoft NEVER provides updated on anything of this nature.
Regardless of whether it's something totally awesome that's going on or if it's terrible.
"We do not comment" means just that, oddly enough.
"u guys this isnt rumble, its nextgen rumble, nothing like uve seen b4, 360 and wii are using last gen rumble."
Is there anything at all Sony fans WON'T believe regarding their console?
They're just going to put the DUAL SHOCK motors into SIXAXIS. That's it.
And it is last-gen, according to Sony.
My girlfriend wants to buy it.
*insert shrug*
Maybe they're too busy wrapping up the Halo 3 beta, launching Shadowrun, running the Halo ARG, video marketplace, prince of persia classic on XBL, the 360 "summer blockbuster" marketing campaign, ... and from majornelson:
"Except for a few franchise titles, the June - August time frame is normally a quiet time for game releases as developers are busy preparing for the big Holiday rush. Some people around the office and I were discussing this, and now that the Hal...
It was sent like a regular Xbox Flash mail. As it says in each Xbox Flash, set your filtering, check for spam, yadda yadda.
s*** happens. Post on the developers' site and ask for a fix.
If you don't want to play crap games to boost your score, then be proud of your low score. I am.
Don't whine and cry when you've cheated up your score and got busted for it. That's just sad.
If the PS3 is not harder to develop for, where are all the arguments that it will take time to unlock the power?
You can't have it both ways, Sony fans. It's either so hard to code for that you can't unlock its power, or you're coding just fine, and the PS3 doesn't have the muscle people say it does.
Which is it?
Aren't those numbers only the ratio of players owned (including PS3), not disc sales, and not "number of purchasers of next-gen disc capable units who are actually BUYING movies"?
*cough*
ONE store, has ONE discount?
Do you think that- no...
Maybe... that store decided to have a special?
Or they had to clear some shelf space?
Or the box had been opened and immediately returned?
Or (9,000 other possibilities)?
It'd be different if the whole chain were doing it. But ONE. STORE?
Has nobody here ever worked retail?
The point is this is NOT retro Pac-Man- it's much more like Geometry Wars Evolved. With a bit of extra padding, either of these titles could almost warrant their own $20 bargain-bin diac.
If you don't like it, don't buy it. And it's not just new levels, it's a whole new look, feel, and play. For example- the dot patterns change every time you eat a fruit now, pretty much solving the issue where you could use "patterns" to beat the old Pac-Man.
It's definately worth 800 points- it's Pac-Man, but lots better. If Pac-Man is 400 points, this title is 800. Seems fair enough.
First it was "just wait for PS3 to launch, 360 has no competition", then it was "wait until the second wave of games", then it was "wait until Christmas", now it's quickly shaping up to be "wait for 2008".
PS3 is dead last in sales worldwide, and the only likely avenue of change is if 360's big exclusives this year cut into Wii's sales and stop the momentum. PS3 may have outsold 360's launch (when EVERYONE was saying consumers were waitin...
So they're launching... some new game?
Wow. I'm so excited.
All this talk about "never seen on a console before" is a bit dated, as well. Peter Jackson used it all talking about King Kong on consoles, and followed up with increasingly splintered banter about the Wingut Interactive Halo project.
Is this a new trend in the console industry? Hyping titles before they even really enter production? Before most of the people involved even know what the...
Lots of people are playing. The new comic is very cool.
