This or Lovefilm, hmm... one to keep an eye on. Netflix seems to be lagging behind in the user-interface though. Anyone else notice that Netflix is basically using the older style NXE dashboard as opposed to the new Metro design we've got now?
Nice image, I'll give it a look. ;)
I do suck at Battlefield, as much as I try with each entry in the series - must just accept the fact that I suck. I need to spawn with an atomic bomb or something.
Yeah, it's a bit concerning the current state of things, and the risk of new IPs, although remarkably good, has seemingly gone downhill since Alan Wake did not receive the sales the title so clearly deserved.
It far from sucks, Halo Reach went as far as to give Combat Evolved a run for its money. Now, if you were referring to Halo 2's campaign, I might be inclined to Agree.
Bioshock number 2, was, although a good game, rather meh and a bit too safe in comparison to the original. Besides, Bioshock '2' is really going to be Infinite. ;)
I don't mind the direction, and can understand the push for Kinect; what I don't like though is that it seems Microsoft can not do both, they seem incapable of appealing to both audiences simultaneously. Since Kinect's arrival there's been little talk of new 'hardcore' exclusives, and Ms seem contempt to rest on their laurels and let third parties take charge.
MW3 done and dusted already. Got Saints Third but yet to play it :(
I think the comparison was more about both titles coming under the banner of 'Thriller', while offering rather unique gameplay experiences from each other.
The same holds true for the rest of the comparisons, the only one I don't agree with really is the Infamous / Fable comparsion, I'd be more inclined to pair off Infamous against Crackdown.
Heh, I could not do without Uncharted myself, same for Gears, I think the point trying to be made is that if you're a single platform gamer that both sides offer similar experiences.
I think LA Noire's motion scan tech was critisised on Xbox for being the reason to have 3 game discs.
I wouldn't think it's some much a requirement for GTA as it remains a pretty convincing experience as is, the technology itself is wonderful though, and I see it being more useful in games that have a heavy focus on NPC's and talking, and would be great for RPGs such as Skyrim where that side of the experience, a big one at that, is where the immersion reall...
Got to be between Gears and Batman. I loved the start of Batman playing as Bruce Wayne, a real different perspective and good to see Wayne incorporated into the game in similar vein to film and TV.
Gears though might just take it for me, the combination of all the parts proves to be a beast of an entertainment package that is hard to beat.
Call of Duty and sales go hand-in-hand, although it doesn't necessarily feel like a step forward for the series, more half a step, about .5.
Rise of Nightmares comes to mind as a stinker that was pushed heavily for Kinect. Fortunately besides the fitness and dance games, and all the other shite we did get two titles in particular that may well shape the future for core games on Kinect, both The Gunstringer and Child of Eden.
Don't know about best publisher, although I am really looking forward to getting my hand on the new Rainbow Six game. I am wondering if Ubi will integrate Kinect voice and/or gesture commands, similar to how the old Xbox worked rather well with such voice commands with a headset.
Snake still looks like a bad ass even with his grey hair and bad back.
Now, if Kinect was miraculously free or heavily discounted for the core/Gold subscribers, I still don't forsee this causing a leap in software sales.
We've seen some games done well with Kinect, such as Gunstringer and Child of Eden that can appeal to the traditional gamer. It's not enough though, if developers can really nail the hybrid with controller and Kinect in future titles, then maybe, just maybe, we will see a dramatic shift in hardware and software sale...
Shame. I never got to play this on xbox, and loved the old side-scrolling PS1 games. May just pick this up on PS3 during the dry months.
They're too focused on Kinect. If they can focus on actual proper games like recent years, then there's no reason for it not to be an epic year.
I enjoyed SC Conviction, was certainly refreshing, and while the old stealth elements are missing it was still a very good game in terms of single-player and I was more happy to see that the co-op from Chaos Theory was expanded upon.
So long as developers keep achievements and trophies associated with higher difficulties in their games, there's still room for that hardcore bit of us to break through.
