I like the sound of it. Hopefully a demo gets pushed out over LIVE pre-release so we can sample and see if it really is as good as it looks, and that I hope it is.
Time to ditch Star Wars by the looks of it, fortunately there's Steel Battalion then coming as the potential big killer “app” for Kinect. Here's hoping that one turns out more fruitful, as hopes were also high for Star Wars, but I think it looks like that's gone to the dogs now.
I'll dabble in some Halo 4 as well, rather miffed at the omission of 3D though seeing as it was well implemented in Halo Anniversary.
Hardly surprising, and no doubt justifiably deserved. I still need to do the first two games though!
Those screenshots don't look quite so hot. Looks more like a PS2/Xbox game from those few images, with any luck they're just poor quality images, as from the videos seen it looks much better. I'm still concerned somewhat about the gameplay experience though.
I see two titles on the exclusive front, obviously there's more if you count Kinect, which I doubt many will be counting, although I'll admit the more titles and stronger gameplay experiences for Kinect, the better and more appealing it will become in the long run.
Halo 4, and an otherwise other unknown exclusive is hardly enough to "bowl over" the competition.
Well, unless you've got kids there's little reason to own a Nintendo console, well maybe Zelda is enough. Still, the other platforms offer more vairety for the mature gamer, and if we can get a Zelda-like game, then that certainly should be one to watch.
It would make a change to not have Kinect mentioned, at all. While that may be impossible, I would like to see a shift back to the Xbox 360's long standing audience with quality software that does not require you to run on the spot in your living room.
I can feel a change in the winds! Go forth Microsoft and pull your finger out, bring us more (non-Kinect) games!
This is where pre-release demos pay-off. The Me3 demo offered up a nice chunk of campaign, and even multiplayer, so whether you're new into the fold or not, many can familiarize themsevles with the game.
Assuming they stick with a similar layout to Metro, they could really do with intergrating the apps into the actual Dashboard, as opposed to having to launch apps. More seamless experience is all I want, and the ability to utilize bing search in Apps to search for titles in Lovefilm, Netflix, Youtube etc. Currently bing search can only be used on the bing page of the main Dashboard.
Alan Wake, for sure. I'll be sure to dablle in Uncharted whenver I get a Vita.
I can see a future where a game can be purely multiplayer on console. Take Counter Strike for example, I could certainly see the likes of Call of Duty or Halo being sold in multiplayer form only via. digital distribution. Such a game over time would then just see mandatory updates and a slew of map packs to rake in the cash.
Anyone who finds Alan Wake boring due to combat is missing the point. Plonk the game on Hard or Nightmare difficulty and it's a much better experience.
This is perhaps Remedy's mis-hap, I think they should have the game default to Hard difficulty, Normal is just too much of a cake-walk and misses the entire point of the game being a thriller in terms of story, but the gameplay itself often keeps you on your toes and offers the thrilling experience to match.
Think I'll give this a watch as I was wondering how the game would work. Like, is it just SFIV with Tekken characters, which could have just been DLC, or does the game stand on its own too feet as a solid standalone experience? Let's take a peak.
Should be interesting - although I think I might have preferred it the other way around, Tekken X SF.
Alan Wake is a must, loved the original. While sadly not many may have played it or bought it, I am interested to see how Alan handles more action. Hopefully it's as thrilling and engaging as the original.
I Am Alive, interested - not yet convicned. Hooray for XBLA trials!
Will give it a shot, although if I'm parting with some points it's for Alan Wake, and maybe I Am Alive. Will see if this tickles my fancy though.
This is another example where Sony comes out top trumps. The Move compatible Child of Eden on PS3 is actually already 3D compatible. I like the Kinect better for it myself, but would have liked the option for 3D.
Another big release to support 3D, nice. Hopefully it's a feature that does end up in the Xbox version when all is said and done.
It's about time tbh. I was quite surprised we've not seen the PC rehash make its way via. XBLA before now, or even as part of Orange Box or something.
