Not so much anymore. Only advantage Xbox has is the superior Live functionality, which makes it a breeze to communicate and arrange games without everyone having to be in same lobby to begin with.
More is fine, as long as there's demand for it. As the saying goes "there's no keeping a good cod (dog) down".
Must be a joke...
shame. 3d and no controller would have been an interesting way to play
Most "essential" no doubt for the majority. Personally though it's Gears of War 3 and Uncharted 3 that are the most essential for me. I've no doubt that MW3 will be a blast though and I'm eager to get stuck into Spec Ops once more, along with the thrilling campaign.
I'll leave all you campers doing what you do best on multiplayer though!
Motorstorm as mentioned is able to reach a broader audience of parents and gamers due to the nature of the included game with the 3D bundle.
I've no doubt Sony will do further bundles anyway, with the likes of Uncharted 3 and possibly still Resistance 3 as well. We've seen a great variety of bundles with their consoles over the years.
Got high hopes for this one... crosses fingers it turns out decent.
Looking forward to playing Uncharted 3 in 3D, that's the big game for me, and the seller of the tech to me combined with 3D Blu's. More 3D games are nice though!
Ah yes, looks like we're set to see EA and Activision's spending go crazy over the next few months.
"No concern", well Infinity Ward really have no reason for concern. The COD name alone will ensure it's a success, and naturally Infinity Ward always go above and beyond the call of duty (yes, I just did that...).
I have high hopes for Battlefield 3 though, and EA may well yet pull a firecracker out of it's ass and deliver a top quality title on both single and multiplayer fronts... even then, it's not likely to outsell MW3, unless Pachter says so of cou...
Props to Obsidian, obviously they're greatly aided with the success of Bethesda's Fallout 3, so had much in place already with regards to setting and basic mechanics.
Maybe Obsidian will become the Treyarch of Fallout, and Bethesda then considered Infinity Ward.
The single-player is awesome, as is Spec-Ops' co-op. I just wish there was room for an additional player or two in Spec-Ops.
Must be 3D. If it is, I wonder if MW3 will be the first game with Split-screen to let two players with PS glasses go full screen.
Maybe they'll get their own back and bomb EA's building this time.
There's almost always a difference. Why try and match them side-by-side, I'd rather the differences be present and have the game play to each consoles strength.
@Shadiezzz
there's always one person who doesn't read and sees what they want to see.
Did you even look at the figures to see that Splinter Cell games sales declined ON the PS3 over the years.
This has nothing to do with hardware sales at all.
Well there's a counter argument that PS gamers have had the Metal Gear franchise so don't need Splinter Cell. That's changed now though... Will people be asking the same question in reverse of MGS 4's true successor?
The article clearly shows that interest from PS3 gamers was getting worse with each iteration. Was timed exclusivity really to blame or something else?
Despite the declining sales on the PS3 compared to Xbox as indicated, I think the soon to be released HD remix of the old games might rekindle interest from PS3 gamers.
The more people buy the game the better chance of improvement. I think the series could stagnate if it's just single platform. However, Xbox gamers need as many exclusives as they can get.
Because back in the day when development costs were so much lower and gamers expectations lower, or the market less cramped, 1M sales was good enough and worth bragging about. Yet in today's market, 1M is simply not enough to be deemed a success. With the amount of money MS poured into Alan Wake's development (how many years was it being developed) and its marketing 1M just wasn't enough and the game failed.
Did you see how fast it dropped in price at retail not l...
Must resist temptation... Arg, too many games!
