But it still won't do nearly as well as Gears 3.
I can already see the hate for a review like this but the review seems fair to me. I was one of those who did not like the first entry in the series at all but thought UC2 was overall amazing.
No doubt part 3 is going to be a fantastic adventure and fun ride but at this point you know what to expect. I felt the same way with Gears 3 a lot of "been there, done that". Both great games but 3 is enough.
As long as they don't use a gimmicky controller as the basis for their entire console they will be good.
Bears? I'm sold!
I've enjoyed the introduction of more choice in games overall this generation but titles like Uncharted and Arkham have shown that a solid single player campaign if done right can still be amazing.
Regardless of the backdrop the problem with motion control of any kind is that it is the same activity over and over that is nowhere near as accurate as a proper controller. Kinect is always going to be put one hand up to aim a target and other hand to create the action. Motion control sold well on Wii not because of the gaming community but because of those outside the gaming community.
I would like sci-fi inspired GTA:)
Have to agree, Haunting Ground was a brilliant game that I would like to see make it's way to the PS2 Classics on PSN along with Rule of Rose.
I could have said the same about Netflix at one time. I'm not sold on it as of now but that doesn't mean it can't take off. If they can continue to grow (both in customer base and content) then it could be huge.
1 big reason for Xbox gamers to hate November: Uncharted 3
When Wii-u launches Microsoft and Sony will be unveiling their next consoles. Before they even hit the street Nintendo's "new" console will already have outdated technology with a clunky gamepad.
The real question is if the casual market who enjoyed making jerking movements at their screen for bowling will flock to pick up an etch-a-sketch. I would tend to think no.
Microsoft has already taken close to 50% of the market away from Sony this ...
Rare and the N64 was my favorite part of that era of gaming, everything they did I loved. It is still amazing to me that Nintendo launched with Mario 64 and didn't do a sequel. To me that was the last great Mario game. I hated the water pack in "Sunshine" and was dissapointed with motion control and running on balls for "Galaxy". I want a proper Mario game with a real controller. Too bad next generation will rely on more gimmicks.
Maybe it's bad because both series are crap.
Please, no more military shooters:/
The key word here is "innovation" not "gimmick" and the Wii-U controller is just that, a gimmick.
If Microsoft is able to balance it's eco-system with Windows 8, Windows Phone and the next Xbox then I think their next console could be a monster success. I truly believe we have only seen the beginning of what Xbox Live will be.
I'm not quite convinced that Sony has learned their lesson from this generation and I expect another cons...
Little Big Planet is a series I've really tried to like. Amazing art direction but the premise of a game built around collecting stickers just doesn't do it for me. It's funny because I think about collecting coins in Mario and I can't get enough of it.
"Big saggy giant boobies on one of them. I haven't seen that in a game before."
Does Bowser count? Hehehe.
I think it is a fair score since the single player is complete garbage.
Naughty Dog are brilliant with the PS3 hardware and there has been an extremely small handful who have really don't some great titles but overall Sony really screwed third party this generation.
A game is good or bad regardless of the difficulty setting.
