If it's something new for this generation then I'm very excited but if it's another installment in a franchise then no thanks.
Quick, save the universe, there is not a moment to lose - but first help Jacob with his daddy issues, Mirana with her sister issues, Jack with her childhood issues, Tali with her daddy issues, Samara with her daughter issues, Garrus with his anger issues, Kasumi with her dead boyfriend issues, Thane with his bastard son issues and oh wait, help Grunt with his rite of passage and Mordin with his questionable research - but remember, the Geth/Reapers/Collectors are trying to kill everybody so n...
Microsoft strikes again!
The fact remains they are building a console around a clunky etch-a-sketch controller with old hardware to produce outdated graphics. I would say Nintendo hasn't learned a dang thing.
I'm curious at how many people have honestly played a lot of these older games getting reboots and who is just repeating what others have said.
I never played Syndicate back in the day (or X-Com) so I could care less what is different. I think both games on their own merit look fantastic.
DLC is a double edged sword, when it works it works well but there IS a lot of nickel and diming going on. What I don't get is how Nintendo puts out one Mario Kart per generation. It's not like they are some graphical powerhouse (nor is anything on Wii). If they had a new track you could download, ever one new one very year for the life of the console that would be great.
I agree that it would also be great to see Mario Kart have user created tracks. I would pick ...
This has to be the most overrated series this generation, beyond average. What I was amazed by was how although the art direction in R3 was better that the graphics themselves were incredibly jaggy compared to the first two games. At the very lease I expected a title on the level of Infamous but it looks really, really bad.
@HeavenlySnipes - Please look up the definition of exceptional.
They don't need hardcore anything, they need real HD graphics. Nintendo keeps releasing consoles that look outdated as soon as they hit compared to what everybody else is doing. Even the very first PS3/360 titles that came out like Heavenly Sword and Kameo looks way better then anything that every came out on the Wii and in fact are about the same graphics you will see out of the Wii-U :/
I am all for anybody who thinks outside of the box. The first time I put in Bioshock I was just blown away. I wish more developers had the opportunity to really try something new.
All opinion so who cares? Both were wonderful franchises for their respective consoles and I have enjoyed both very much.
My preorder from Uncharted 3 came on Saturday and I finished on Sunday. It was a great game but I felt VERY MUCH like I did with Gears of War 3, you know what to expect from both franchise at this point.
The fact is that regardless of your opinion on each console or each game that Epic got the ball rolling for TPS this generation and...
I am not about to say God of War is a bad series but come on Santa Monica, let's do something new, something creative. Even thought God of War only had one proper new game on PS3 the franchise is beyond milked this generation with all the HD releases. I would MUCH rather see Heavenly Sword 2 or something new all together but I'll pass on any more GOW.
I must admit that I'm most excited for Tomb Raider out of that list.
Mass Effect started out this generation as my favorite new IP hands down and part two quickly took care of that.
I could see somebody not enjoying part 3 as much but to go from an "A" for part 2 to a "C" for part 3 has trolling for hits written all over it.
Survival horror started out strong on the PSX and just got better on the PS2. I really expected to see some great things with this genre on the PS3 but there has been next to nothing to speak of and what there has been has been average at best.
I'm sorry, Mario is nowhere near better than Uncharted.
As if multiple gamepads aren't expensive enough.
I know Uncharted, Batman, Portal and Gears have all been tossed around as GOTY but I truly believe Skyrim will be the best of them all.
"They have reiterated Uncharted’s status as the best new IP this generation".
I am very excited to play this game but I would argue that Gears of War was the most important game this generation and certainly paved the way for third person shooters including Uncharted. It has also sold far more discs and consoles.
Uncharted 2 was brilliant and 3 looks every bit as fun but best new IP? For Sony, yes. All around, no.
Dead Space 2 was a fantastic game, I truly enjoyed all of it. As for LA Noire, if it had been more GTA/RDR it could have been huge. After playing and loving everything about Red Dead Redemption I thought LA Noire would be just as fun but in a different era of America. Unfortunately it was all facial animation and picking up garbage:/
Good commercial? Yes. But the problem is that an actual device that you touch will always be more precise than touching "air". Microsoft has a problem (just like their futuristic Windows phone commercial last week) where they can sell a great idea but they can't execute. Mainly because what they are selling is unrealstic to begin with.
