While I agree that both are outdated.
The PS3 is actually used for making supercomputers, by putting them in clusters.
Also, not all computers have a processor as powerful as the PS3. So I would argue the GPU is clearly outdated, but the CPU, not so much.
Power is often misunderstood. Usually Developers are talking about using every SPU all the time, 100% of the time.
That does not mean the SPU's are maxed out. Also there is always room for improvement with better engine designs and optimization.

They have to, the NGP is supposed to launch this holiday season. Insomniac and Naughty Dog have two of their biggest games launching this year. How are they going to develop both titles?
