They maxed out what they could do with their tech in the time that they put into KZ3. Their tech may use 100% of the PS3's power, meaning 100% of its processing power. However better engines could lead to better use of that 100%.
Optimization always leads to more power being squeezed out.
EDIT: I should say better use of power, instead of more power. They could rewrite the engine, or parts of it, to use less RAM and resources, freeing them up for other ...
Which is why reviews suck nowadays, they can not be trusted at face value.
A lot of reviewers tend to nit pick now and deduct massive points for small flaws that don't effect gameplay.
The way I see it, playing the game for yourself is the best way to review it.
Yes, obviously there are limitation.
But optimization goes a long way. While I agree PC has much more power at its disposal, depending on your rig, consoles have amazing graphics on this "old tech". Especially for such a low price.
Console games are optimized for one chipset, while PC games are made for many CPU and GPU combinations. If a PC game was optimized for one set up like consoles, the results would be mind blowing. But thats not the cas...
While its impressive, its not running at a very impressive FPS.
Hopefully things get more realistic in the future, like at 27 seconds, instead of that table sliding across sand, it should get caught, create friction, and fall over.
Thats your shoulder hip hop gamer haha.
Edit: Disagree from the person who didn't watch the video to know what I was referencing haha.
Interesting indeed, wonder if they turned off all the assists that are automatically turned on for you when you start the game up.
Never mind, seems like graphics is the biggest part of their comparison, which isn't the Sim part of the games. Also maybe Porsche has an exclusive contract? Ever think of that? They sound like wanna be game reviewers instead of car drivers.
Either way, opinion non the less.
I think hes referring to the 5 or so 7's which called out the single player for being flawed.
But either way, the majority are 8 to 10's, with more 8's and 9's. So it should be a solid title.
KZ2 was solid, and that got quite a few 7's and even under that.
Works great with Move. Also you can rest your arms on your legs just like with a regular controller. No need to aim like your holding a light gun.
I can see where that would be a problem. But I haven't encountered that with KZ3 or MAG yet. Also DS3 players can camp and snipe.
I honestly feel that the Move doesn't make you a better gamer.
My typical KZ3 Beta match with DS3 was 12 kills and 6 deaths. I ran around and used machine guns. The same applied with Move, was getting 10 kills and 6 deaths, 12 and 6, best was 18 and 5 or something like that.
I was pretty okay at FPS bef...
Good read,
But I still think that its a trade off and fair to play with both. I played both MAG and KZ3 with Move, and there is a learning curve.
But once you get over it from my experience you get better on screen aiming, but it then becomes more difficult to turn and aim quickly. The DS3 gives you that ability to turn very accurately, but sometimes its tough to pin point a target on screen.
Maybe they will separate players when enough hav...
The Cell CPU has a raw processing power of 212 Gflops.
The xenon, which is in the 360 has a processing power of 77 Gflops.
The Cell has much more processing power.
Also the Xenon was designed off the original specs for the PPE in the Cell. But to its advantage the Cell has 6 SPE's for gaming. Wikipedia and other sites are my sources, feel free to utilize them.
Yea, but they just said the game runs on PS3 exactly the same as 360.
Now don't get me wrong, but if my math is right, there is more processing power in the PS3 couples with the faster CPU RAM. To me that should equal greater performance.
So which statement is right Crytek? Are they equal or not?
Agreed
I mean it doesn't hurt to have options, but I just can't see how Move would work other than twisting the wrist to turn, or designing a wheel that it pops into so the camera can see the ball at all times.
And again with Kinect, I don't want to hold my hands up for extended periods of time not holding anything.
I love options, and wouldn't mind trying them out, but I'd probably go with the standard controllers after a...
People confuse "life cycle"
10 year life cycle does not mean the product is out for 10 years with no successor for that 10 years. It simply means that product is supported for 10 years.
A good example is the PS2, which is what, in its 11th year? It's life cycle was 10 years at first. It has since moved through the cycle into decline, but is still going.
The PS3's release did not mark the end of the "life cycle" ...
@ Hassi94,
I suppose I notice it because I'm respawning more than once per match. When you notice something like that 2 to 3 times it starts to get annoying to the eye.
But my point being, why is this Beta not as polished as the KZ3 beta we are seeing? Some say it is a early build from months ago. Well so was the Alpha code KZ3 beta I was involved in, that was still more polished.
Don't get me wrong, I'm interested in both game...
Never knew that, thank you.
I suppose they should list all publishers then to avoid confusion.
Im sorry, I can't agree with you on that.
While Crysis 2 will probably look awesome when released, right now that Beta is not good, and not close to KZ3. The pop in just ruins the whole experience. Every 10 feet pop in, texture loading. The map is not even that big compared to KZ3's Beta Map.
I'm referring to the rooftop map, which was their beta map of choice to release first, and that was horrible, they should have went with Pier 17.
Grand Theft Auto 4(PS3)
Bottom of list,
Apparently published by Capcom.
Gotta love it haha.
Still amazes me till today that people call The Fight horrendous. Is it really that bad?
Why am I playing it and having fun then? While working out to add to it.
The game was not a 2 out of 10, it was at least a 6 out of 10, for me a 8 or 9. Why? Because it worked like they said it would and its fun.
Just cause reviewers don't like to "fight" or work out, or can't follow simple on screen instructions such as don't ...
Might actually be a steal. Remember, inflation exists in countries like Brazil
