I played both, and I'll tell you that they both looked and felt very similar to me. Both felt really unpolished.

But obviously if you play them side to side you will notice differences. But again, regardless of version, they both have pop in, texture loading, etc... Just not very solid demos.

While the PS3 version isn't true 720p HD, it's not far off from it. So don't think thats why the game looks "poor" to you.

If they made it 720p HD it would look almost the same.

Also both the PS3 version and Xbox version appear to be very unpolished. I honestly expected better a week before release. But I'll be checking up on it after release.

Discounting the game does not make it easier to break even. It does the contrary. Depending on how you look at it.

Now the developers, publishers, and retailers are receiving smaller margins per game sold. Now they will have to sell MORE than 2 million units if the price stays down.

On the other hand, with a lower price they should expect to sell more units.

But I do agree that using Metacritic religiously can lead to passing up on some ve...

PS3 user base bigger than 360?

No, this is US data. But it is given in attach rates. Attach rates take into account the user base and units sold.

So even though the Xbox 360 has a larger user base in the US. PS3 users are more likely to buy Black Ops, AC: BH, etc in the US.

Haha, I remember trying for an hour here, and hour there, just hoping for a chance to get in a COD 4 lobby shortly after release.

It took quite a while to fix that, at least it seamed that way.

And judging by their performance so far, GG are on it

My only question is since when were scripted games a bad thing?

Crysis 2 is scripted as well, the developer said that themselves. Not as scripted, more sandbox like, but scripted sections non the less.

Scripted sections in games allow for building story and creating immersion.

The PS3 has 256 XDR ram for its CPU. Which, unlike the Xbox, can be used for graphics

Just because it is there does not mean it can be implemented.

Other resources have to be taken into account when designing a game.

For instance, consoles can probably do 16xAA, but game devs don't push that because it sacrifices valuable resources that can be used elsewhere.

That being said, its a great feature and I wouldn't mind seeing it put to good use in some upcoming titles.

Calling the 800 standard cars "poor" looking clearly shows your bias against the series. Those standard cars, all but a select FEW, look good and can stand up to any other racing game easily and top most of them.

Also, the game was in co-development with 2 other titles, GT5P and GTPSP.

Feeding Frenzy is on PSN, so giving that one mistake there are probably multiple. I would suggest going over the lists one more time.

Not sure if anyone covered it, but there are PSP's that connect to the Playstation Network.

So the PSN accounts number doesn't only apply to PS3

Which is addressed in the article, and its probably the case that those numbers do include PSP's as well.

Agreed, thats why I try to play medic in KZ3.

I was just playing some Killzone 2 earlier today online, medics are always there and reviving, I miss that. Also miss the icon above a medics head when you get downed.

@The Ultimate Guy

Thats a worse title.

First, Xbox 360 install base was far greater than 8 million since Halo released in 2007.

Second of all, why then are the sales for Halo Reach not 50 million? since the install base is much much larger now? Are the games getting worse and the fans backing off? Thats what your title sort of implies.

Don't hate when good games get good sales please. It makes you look bad.

I loved the game as well, and enjoyed every minute of it. But that was not bull on the time. My first play through totaled just under that time. But that does not appear to include deaths and cut scenes, as I played real time for about 5 or 5 and a half hours.

But with that aside, it is the best 5 to 5 and a half hours of gameplay I've played in a really really long time.

Battlefield looks great, thats all I'm gonna say. Can't wait to see some console footage up and running. Wouldn't mind having a nice PC to run it either haha.

Bulletstorm SCREAMS co op, but why isn't it there?

Bulletstorm is all about combos and even has leaderboards to compete with your friends, but no co op. Wouldn't co op only make the combo's better? or skillshots should I say?

idk, just an opinion.

Yes BlackKnight,

I am well aware of how they work, I was just simply commenting on the way it looked to my eye, didn't put that much thought behind it. It looked like it was skipping, not just slowed down.

Watching it again though I see what your saying and retract my comment about the FPS, but my comment about the realism still holds for me, can't wait to see how good physics and stuff get in the future.

If thats true than that sucks. High tech products probably follow a similar trend, more expensive.

@imvix

They did what they could with their engine. Their current engine probably can't push that level of effects, action on screen, scale, etc.. in 1080p at a respectable framrate.

What I'm saying is they can continue to refine the engine, find new ways to do lighting, particle effects, etc.. like they did with AA as mentioned in the article. This should allow them to improve things like resolution, fps, etc..
