It is groundbreaking to have more choices, what isn't are these stores who give you very little for your old games and then turn around and price newer games that are used for $5 less than buying the new copy.
This is a small Mom and Pop store who only had 375,000 customers in the last 20 years. Last i checked games coming such as Sea Of Thieves will still be sold in physical form. Sony and Nintendo also sell NEW titles on their digital stores, how much of a cut does t...
Dreams could turn out to be a big hit but I think its safe to say red dead 2 will be the big game this year
One system is able to do more, its pretty simple.
Getting everyone online (that way they can track your gaming habits) so they can sell more stuff and getting rid of the used market is the end goal
Sony is off to a great start again, what was the big exclusive for January?
They have only had 375,000 customers in almost 30 years. It's also not like these games are not available to buy in store either. Are they going to stop selling EA games because of EA Access? This sounds more about attention to a small store.
It also talks about software revenue.
lol, for some reason i thought this was a Square game. Never tried Monster Hunter games before but I will now.
Of course it's the next step. They already got you with online multiplayer and Nintendo is going to charge for that too. A service such as Playstation Now can be available to even those who don't have the hardware so you can penetrate the market even more by reducing that barrier.
Then cancel if it happens. They will continue to offer options and you can buy the games just like before. The fine print doesn't say you are locked in forever. Seems like some of you are trying to discourage others by your what ifs and caveats and fine print that you are overthinking on.
They just confirmed 1st party titles will not be removed either.

Its $10 a month so the risk is very little to begin with and you get a discount on games to buy if you want as well. So far I think they have only ever removed 2 games so it's not a big worry when you can cancel any time and with such a low investment.
If the service is not providing with what you want then cancel. Some people are over-thinking this whole thing even comin g up with ridiculous scenarios like Microsoft will make games only for this and not release them on...
This would be the perfect title to test the waters. It's not a game that will change peoples buying of hardware that's for sure.
They can test the waters with it, see how it works and the feedback from those who try it.
Most games don't last this long or sell this much. It's the oposite of a fad.
The PS2 didn't have the power the PS4 does but it still manged to produce an excellent game back then.
It's much better if people rent and buy the game than one or the other, which is exactly what this is. Sony does create games and they also sell them digitally. Not sure what your point is by mentioning Sony since they too offer Playstation Now which is also a subscription based service. Microsoft is just offering greater incentive by offering their games on the PC and launch day games on the subscription model. Nothing has changed for physical buyers.
They are going to do what the consumer wants. Why would they remove a revenue stream of physical games if there is still a need for them? If most move to digital then so will they and everyone else because thats what the consumer wants!
Are you actually trying to downplay having options? This is a great move, now it's even easier to try out games including new ones like Crackdown 3. First they removed the barrier of having to keep old hardware to play older titles, then they offered their own games and other third party titles on the PC including Play anywhere games that can be played on any Windows device including the Xbox One, and now they are offering a monthly subscription which will include future 1st party titles ...
How does Netflix make money after you finish watching a movie? The service will need content of course to keep subscribers just like any other service.
I bet there will be multiple pricing tiers and with Microsoft pushing games as a service they are hoping you don't beat the game and leave. Now you see why there is less interest in single player only titles and not just from Microsoft.
Nintendo has also made them far more available so they must be making a lot more than they used to.
