Likely because after so many years of being dismissed on Nintendo hardware they feel like they are now exclusive and even more importantly is because you can play htose games on the go.

With Microsoft they do need more than Sea of Thieves. It's nice to see the game getting attention and advertising but they need a steady stream of content that appeals to Xbox/Windows you can't get anywehre else. Just like playing Doom and Skyrim on a portable game console.

Why not, should we ask you to work for free once you release a project but are continuing to work on it? Some don't seem to have a problem with maps and other dlc content coming post launch of other online titles. Put the word microtransactions out there instead of dlc or season passes or MMO monthly fees and now it's taboo. Ridiculous. Do people not buy optional themes/skins and other cosmetic items for their game consoles? After all you payed more than $60 for your game console. Why...

It is a full priced online game, some of you seem to forget that. The dlc will be for things like buying pets later on. Why are so many of you resentful of adding content to an online game that can keep things entertaining for those who want more?

These are not things that are forced upon those playing, some of you seem to neglect that. This is a game designed to be played for months and months, not a one shot deal so of course it will have to be monetized since the game it...

They managed to take a classic game and not do it justice.

Maybe this is going to be a feature built into its streaming service, which would be a good option.

"there's no season pass, there are no DLC packs, that stuff will be delivered for free"

That's cool and the 'option' to buy pets is also cool.

Disney does not want to tarnish the Star Wars brand at all and they have to know EA was voted worse publisher. If they do keep it with EA then let Amy Henning have creative control and do the game we all wanted. I don't really know who else would step in aside from Ubisoft. They would want a big publisher.

It doesn't have a monthly fee like MMO games so there is always going to be some sort of balance between supporting the game online and offering content to buy. It's not like some games where you will buy microtransactions that makes your ship twice as fast. If they start holding back others (slow progression or grinding) who don't buy them then that will be the death of the game. Too much is riding on it to be a ghost town in a couple of months.

They also bette...

This kind of supports the argument that releasing games every year isn't always beneficial just for profits. Longer development meant a better product plus it sold better. Win win.

It would do very well if they did.

So you didn't really read what the Microtransactions are, and like so many others think they are all bad.

This is not an offline game, of course they are going to sell items. That's how most online games are. It's not going to be like Battlefront II but you guys don't want to hear it.

They will revise the hardware at least once.

You are never going to please everyone. There would be complaints why stuff was held back, this way they worked on it right to the end. Delaying games is never an easy solution either, it's not like these guys are Rockstar who will make millions no matter what.

"It's not really a new franchise if it was on PC for almost a year before Xbox"

"To be fair both of the games you listed didn't have a bundle until well after they were released. PUBG got a bundle one month after it's release."

Make up your mind, it's either a new franchise or it's not. Putting a negative spin on everything doesn't really jive given the nature of how successful this has been for both parties inv...

Nice to see single player content instead of the usual online stuff.

If you really want to get oldschool check out Uniracers on the SNES.

This looks like a lot of fun.

The drip feeding of content and fixes have ruined their reputation. Games should not be treated as a business plan from the get go and Destiny was that. It was rumored to be a 10 year plan with 500 million dollars invested.

Those who own the game should not be silenced though. Negative review bombing is in itself has become a real problem and sites like Steam have taken action.

It is indeed nice that Sony has been able to provide this after a cautious approach much like the delay for Boost mode.

"When you have to say 'PlayStation is a game console'. . .
It makes you look insecure . . Like you're trying to patch or cover up something."

It's main purpose is a game console and while it did take Sony some time (and likely pressure along with questionable games not supporting it suc...
