How could they sell worse if they are no longer available for Nintendo and Sony? If people enjoy the games enough they will go to where they are available.

Microsoft will still have the same problem and that is getting games made. They bought Rare years ago but that didn't mean all the people stayed.

This is the biggest takeaway from this. I know others like to compare it to Xbox and PS4 and even Vita sales above but how Switch is doing compared to Wii U is the most direct comparison for the company. It shows how Nintendo has been able to bounce back and making the corrections needed.

The article ignored how this game is also coming to Gamepass which is odd since one of the major complaints about the game is finding the right people to play with. With Gamepass it will hopefully expands that player base.

One thing it does touch on which I do agree and this impacts quite a few online games is finding the right players. This is why Rare has created a communication tree for those who don't like to talk online. These types of games live and die by its com...

Would Valve ever consider partnering with MS with some of their intellectual property games like left 4 Dead? It appears they are not interested in pursuing much in making games any longer.

This could be one of the concerns in crossplay when you have specific items that cannot be bought on another platform. Halo skin for example on Xbox.

Big new titles often get shown too early on purpose to get the hype rolling.

What a weird report for Battlefront II. Percentage of those who tried the single campaign and no total numbers? Sounds like it's below expectations of how well the game sold.

No, not everyone is ready. That's why they are not removing the ability to buy physical copies but like most things on the internet, things get blown out of proportion. The pc has adapted just fine by the way going almost fully digital. The pc market doesn't need retailers as much because they are not promoting the hardware behind it like we see with console makers. This removes the middle-man and why pc games on average costs less.

Both Sony and Nintendo sell new g...

Buying Steam would alleviate their problems with the Windows Store but it's not going to happen. Valve is a private company that makes a fortune.

EA is too bloated and too much to bother. That would mean Microsoft would just turn into Steam and allow their games to multiple platforms like Minecraft. No reason to buy them then limit access. PUBG they will continue to try. It's a money maker like Minecraft and because it's only pc and Xbox so far it would be the e...

"You are seeing in tunnel vision."

Tunnel vision would be implying this,

"You are letting MS charge you into accepting a sexy DRM. By this you gave less freedom to trade or sell what you buy...now it's the "pay 9.99 plus xbl monthly" to play games that would be too much trouble to play and if you don't keep paying them they'll take them away."

What freedoms are being taken away from you? Sea of ...

Easy. Make decent games and give players a full experience without the introduction of microtransactions unless they are just cosmetic. No more pay to win or grinding, that has to go first and foremost. If dlc is coming then make it something extra like Horizon or Witcher III, not something that was held back.

With sports games like Madden which only get marginal updates per year, charge less. Make them $40 not $60.

Sony has tons of games with lots of replay value. They could also probably get away with charging much more than Microsoft because they have a lot more to offer and have been around longer.Meaning access to a larger library.

If Nintendo and Sony both came out with the same idea of bringing 1st party titles it would change the industry as we know it. It would also be hugely popular but both Sony and Nintendo are run differently. Nintendo really is all about games, Sony is cl...

First off you need to evaluate what is being offered and go from there instead of just viewing everything from such a half empty glass point of view all the time. They are offering a 14 day free trial, try it out and see if there's enough entertainment value. If there's enough to keep you busy then $10 a month really isn't much of a commitment. Not when you can cancel at any time. Why is everything so analyzed and an over-reaction?

Why wouldn't it continue to be discussed, you think Microsoft is going to invest in cloud technology and not further evolve what it means for the consumer? We have already seen it in action for Titanfall and used to continue taking in data for Drivatars in Forza. It was never advertised as an end all solution.

1,760 Sony PS3s were also used a cluster to calculate 500 trillion floating-point operations per second (500 TFLOPS). Which acted as a supercomputer.

Microsoft has fallen way behind in 1st party, everyone knows this except those within the inner circle at Microsoft who just won't admit it.

If Nintendo and Sony offered the same service it would explode and one day this will be the new normal to have new games part of a monthly subscription model. It just makes sense we are headed that way. Doesn't mean physical games will die, just more options which could actually mean a lot more people playing games.

Sad how much they still treat this franchise as a business through and through. In 2 months we will do this, then in 3 months after that we will release this, then in the fall we will release new dlc for $20, then next year we will do this....

Then take advanatge of it now. I dont get it, you are more concerned about Microsoft losing money than getting to play games for cheap.
