All those systems of the past shows there is no magic bullet. You can come out with a console that does something unique and takes off because of the novelty. Their track record has proven they can release games that suit lots of gamers. GTA V sold 90 million copies and still going strong. You don't get that with single player only games any longer so it is indeed possible to cater to both camps of gamers.

I think it was just a pipe dream to begin with and it would likely never get approved as its a conflict since Microsoft controls the operating system on pc's so they would likely block such an acquisition. You don't want one party to have that much control.

You can tell a lot of care and attention went into this remake/remaster. Whether it be backwards compatability or remakes/remasters many games of the past should not be forgotten.
