This is pretty clearly due to the success of their fitness games. The practically of the vitality sensor there is pretty obvious.
I'd get into it if cool things are done with it. A horror game that knows if you are scared? But most likely it's just going to be featured in Wii Fit 2 and forgotten.
It's clearly not replacing discs. Not this generation anyway... this could be them testing the waters as they consider an all-download Xbox 3.
This luncheon went from approximately 12 to 1pm.
The big announcement out of it was downloadable full retail games on demand. Sure looks like a big step for console gaming towards an all-DLC model.
IGN's game profile for Reach lists it as a first person shooter. But I don't know what they are basing that on.
Except they showed Halo games releasing both this year and next. So that "rotation" was out the window before you posted it.
Time passes, deals change or break for various reasons. I definitely recall the GTA3 games being "exclusive" to the PS2 for quite some time.
Metacritic has been around for a relatively short time. The term "AAA" to describe games has been around since at least the SNES/Genesis generation. Which definition do you think "suddenly" became which?
Read the comments above yours, several of us have explained what the term AAA refers to. A company can announce that a game is AAA because they MAKE it AAA by putting their full support behind it, regardless of how it turns out.
People often mistakenly use AAA to mean "a great game" or "a highly reviewed game".
The long established use of AAA in video gaming actually refers to the amount of hype, marketing and budget behind a game. A game doesn't have to be great to be AAA as long as it is a major, splashy release with high production values.
Lair would be an example of a game that could be considered AAA without being highly reviewed.
Sounds like Glyphs were successful in WoW so they're bringing the concept to Diablo? Sounds good to me.
Wow, you not only didn't read the article, but you apparently didn't read the article excerpt or any of the comments above yours. That's gonna cost you bubbles.
It's impossible to actually spend dollars (as opposed to points) on a download, so I doubt it. If someone pressed download, it probably still just charged them 800 points.
They apparently listed the price in dollars instead of MS points. It costs 800 points.
A weird mistake to make because nothing in the marketplace is priced in dollars. Maybe they just use the dollar sign as shorthand for MS points internally?
I don't think anything has been confirmed. All I've read is speculation about exactly what the retail "All Fronts" pack will include. But I'm pretty confident it won't just be a new disc with the game plus DLC on it for the exact reason you described.
I'm still a valiant. :(
Haha, some stories just don't make good N4G material.
Maybe they read N4G and stole your idea! :o
What does the tag look like and where does it appear?
I admit what I stated above is just something I remember reading a long time ago, and could be incorrect. By makers, I meant Nintendo/Sony/MS, so I'm not sure if you're defining it differently because I meant the makers SET the MSRP. But a couple questions if what you said is really true:
1. If retailers are free to place permanent or temporary price cuts on consoles, why don't they ever do it? You never EVER see sales on current SKUs of Xbox 360s (for example... insert your co...
Deep breaths Zhik. Nintendo is making games that don't cater to you, not raping your friends and family.
This announcement is exactly what I wanted. Galaxy is the best game on the Wii IMO and I'm super excited about Galaxy 2 already. Just wish it was coming out sooner.
