Right. People are going to change their playstyles because Eminem shouted at a camera. It's nice to imagine, but overly optimistic.

I don't know whether to hope that was a typo or a pun. Pretty pathetic either way. =P

"It wouldnt hurt MS one bit to give something out for free for a change!"

Um, yes it would. It would hurt them a bit. Giving out something that could generate a chunk of revenue for free hurts businesses. Not that complicated.

Yep yep, I know IGN reported this correctly months ago. It was always clear that a free patch would be added so that players don't all have to buy or not buy the DLC to continue to play together, but the new island and quests would have a price attached.

Wow, I didn't know a single game in that contest. Good thing I already have Braid I guess.

My response exactly. It proved it could produce a decent distraction worth buying some $0.99 games for. Not quite the same level as what Nintendo or Sony are putting out there.

I'm confused, are your comments supposed to be from the console's point of view? Cause I can see how the playstation itself would be that excited about Killzone. If you're speaking as a person though, you need to chill a little bit. It's a video game, not the second coming of Christ.

IMO the "flood" of DKs has been very tame for a new class so far. Occasionally I just /who 80 out of curiosity, and there seem to be about twice as many DKs as other individual classes... in other words DKs are about 2/11 of the population while each other class is 1/11 of the population. It's hardly noticeable really, and I think it will even back out over the next few months as more people decide the DK isn't for them, and as Blizzard smooths out its power level a little more. ...

Which company is making more money from their online gamers though? $1 million between approximately 17 million online gamers is about 5.5 cents revenue per player for Sony.

In the month HOME has been out, Microsoft has made about $4 per gamer. Microsoft is making approximately 70 times as much money per online player.

I'm not saying I love paying for Xbox live, but you can't deny which company is making more money through their online service.

I see what DaKid means and agree. Yes, Killzone will probably be a huge boon for PS3 and Sony. But "afraid" is not really an accurate word to use in a competitive marketplace, especially about one product. Sure Microsoft will continue to try to one-up Sony as they release one of their biggest titles in a long time. That's good business, not them lashing out in desperation.

To you people saying Microsoft is afraid of Killzone... would you have said Sony was afraid ...

I'm kind of expecting that. Have they said it wouldn't be on PC?

Well, it's sort of a surprise since they did say these would be available exclusively though the code in the game. Giantbomb.com muses that it might be available as an error and be removed soon.

More likely, they realized it hasn't kept people from buying used copies of the game, and have decided they might as well try to get $5 out of those people. It might mean more drastic measures in future Epic games... wasn't Epic the one with a developer tossing out the hypothetical id...

Amen, their podcasts are by far their largest asset in my eyes. If those don't go anywhere then other changes won't bother me.

Fact? When has a strategy game in a console-selling IP ever existed? I don't see how a "fact" either in favor of or against Halo Wars selling consoles can even exist.

Since the link's not working I'll just comment on the title. It's terrible. "Game-changing games"?

6257d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

It takes talent to bring Xbox vs. PS3 fanboyism into an article about neither console. Well played sir.

Well it does show you your gamerscore out of the possible score based on the games you've played, so it's pretty easy to do the math. As far as I know this isn't displayed publicly though, which would be nice.

It's true that misunderstanding "put in your credit card" can be forgiven, but what really got me was that she continued to cram in more cards "until there was enough to make it work". That's not just misunderstanding video game technology, that's misunderstanding credit cards and probably misunderstanding life altogether.

It's been "on sale" for $39 with free shipping every time I've seen it all year. It's definitely the way to go.

This "news" article has less content than many comments on this subject on n4g in the last few weeks. It just happens to have its own URL. No wonder it took a long time to be approved, it's not actually news or any new information or viewpoint at all.
