I wish Microsoft would just release a $400 Series XS console. The same guts as a Series X without the disc drive and the same form factor as the S, but obviously slightly bigger. It's all about choice.

Exactly. $300 is a great entry point for the current generation of gaming for the mass market.

It's pretty much a case of not wanting to delay again. Get it stable and out the door then optimize over the following months. This is the norm now. Early adopters are basically the testers. We are unwittingly helping with the development of these games. It's not just this either. This is just how the games work now. It's basically the gaming equivalent of self checkout!

Exactly, this is not due to the power of S like some people are saying. It's funny cuz many of those comments are coming from people who don't even care about this game, just using this article to fit their narrative.

I'm sure it will be fine. It's really a console designed more for those who haven't upgraded to a 4k tv yet. Those people really don't care about the fanciest graphical features and such.

And besides, look how many people game on PC using older machines. Sure they don't get the best specs on those older PCs, but they are out there and that hasn't hindered PC gaming. The series S is just like a lower end PC in that regard. It has the guts to be able t...

I have an x and an s use the x in my bedroom and the s in the living room for the kids to use mostly, but I test games out on it sometimes. DL 2 still looks and runs good on the S. For $300 it's actually alot of bang for the buck. A Series S with a GP sub is a much better investment than a switch honestly. GP has a ton of family games and my kids don't even touch their switches except to play Mario Odyssey once in a while. I was impressed with how good the S keeps up though.

Wtf 😂 I wish this cancel culture wokeness bullshit would just die already.... The need to mention it's made by not-Chinese about Chinese is a microcosm of one of the major issues of our day and age. This person has no credibility at all. We need to hold those people who push this wokeness accountable. Unreal 🤦

Which is a problem of Sony's creation entirely and something the other guys do 100x better. Now they have to manufacture 2 different versions.

The collectors editions don't even come with the disc 😂 that's how much Sony cares about the discs.

@ shadow

Your missing the point. You are still buying a cross gen game regardless if you're getting PS5 or PS4 version. If you really want to send a message, buy it used or buy the PS4 version and immediately upgrade to the PS5 version without even playing the PS4 copy. You're basically paying an extra $10 for a slightly different box. I pre-ordered the PS4 version the day they announced the free upgrade. Then I used that $10 for the Uncharted PS5 upgrade.

The logic is on some other... So you don't want them to do cross gen but your still buying the cross gen game?! Even if you buy the PS5 version, you're still buying a cross gen title and supporting the practice. Im glad they're not cutting out PS4 owners, especially with how hard the PS5 has been to get for a lot of people. Also, have you seen it on PS4?! It still looks damn good!

Not at all. They got freaking Insomniac for a fraction of that! Bungie is nowhere near the talent of Insom! This was a desperate move to grab a headline away from Xboxs recent successes. Sony fans despise GaaS. Once Sony starts shoehorning live service stuff into all their traditionally single player stuff, people will get upset. At least that's what you would think the way Sony fans have shit all over MS for GaaS over the last several years.

That's what Sony does though. Of course they would deny it. They also denied that PS Plus was a response to Xbox Live back in the day 🤦😂. It's a clear desperation move. Now they can say they own the company that created their competitors biggest franchise. And they see all these live service games, that their fanbase hates, making bank and they realize they need to have that aspect in their business model because huge $100 million dollar games are not sustainable on th...

You get the upgraded PS5 version with pre order of the PS4 version. Just have to make sure to download the PS5 version on your PS5 and not the PS4 version on your PS5. I know, it's unecessarily confusing, but that's what Sony chose to do 🤷

Simply put, Sony's business model cannot sustain itself. Every single game would have to be a multi million seller to be profitable. They know this and it's why they are turning to the Live service and subscription model too. People are just clueless is all. If they'd rather pay $70 for The Show, let them... I'll be playing it on Gamepass day 1 as just part of my subscription. The industry is changing and they just can't accept it until their overlords follow the leader in...

You know what's ironic is some people, usually Sony fans, have all this negative stuff to say Bout Gamepass, but it's actually their hunger for bigger games that was killing the games industry. That's why we're seeing all this consolidation. Bigger and better games require bigger budgets and staff, which equals more money and causes companies to take less and less chances on experimental and artsy games. I'd much rather have the Gamepass model where even the smallest devs ...

And it's still worth the cost. The value is unreal. It is the only way forward. It's about game discovery. I no longer waste money on yearly sports games and CoD, stuff like that. The sports games are always on GP and the end of the season and you get the 10 hour trial on release day. I don't feel the need to get every new CoD and other yearly titles as I'm busy seeing what's new on Gamepass. You just don't get it. People are discovering things they never tried or thou...

I've got more value out of Gamepass in the last year than my entire 35 year gaming history! I used to buy at least 20-30 games a year, many at full price on launch day. Now with my kids all gaming, Gamepass has been a godsend. I really don't care how much they charge. I still have Netflix thru all the price hikes and still save a ton vs what I used to spend on Movies. And I still buy the games and movies I want, just not at full price. Having stuff day 1 on GP is great as I can wait t...

They still make a ton of $ from other aspects of their gaming division. How much you think Minecraft and all it's content pack bring in? Then all the sales of physical games, which do still sell. Plus peripherals, etc. You seem to have this tunnel vision around MS like all they do is Gamepass. They have tons of revenue pouring in. And once all their studios really get into a groove of big game releases it's pretty much guaranteed Gamepass only gets bigger. I can see Gamepass at 100 mi...

25 million Gamepass subscribers. This number will only grow with the Bethesda and Activision buys. Even if stuff like CoD is still on PS, people are going to question why they would pay $70 a pop when it's on GP day 1 for no extra cost. That's what those deals were about. The GP sub model is a huge differentiator and Microsoft is making major bank from that alone. And the games will still sell as there will always be those who want the physical copies. Believe that people are and will...
