I loved State of Decay 2 and am super impressed with how they've kept adding new things for free with frequent updates. I hope the transition to UE 5 helps them unlock the power they seek to make the ultimate Zombie apocalypse simulator. It's not everyone's cup of tea for sure, but I've enjoyed my 6 or 7 communities I've built over the last couple of years with SoD2. I hope they have more to show soon!

I thought the demo was trash. Seems like they're just throwing the Final Fantasy name on it to appeal to that fanbase. I don't really like Souls games so probably not my cup of tea. But because it has FF name/art/music I will want to check out the full version at some point.

This line made me cringe laugh: "I remember a time when Rockstar would be caught dead releasing something as broken as Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition."

That's hilarious cuz all the GTA games felt broken even back then! They were edgy and you could do crazy messed up stuff, but they were always janky and not technologically great. Go back and play San Andreas on PS2 yikes 😬

They do need to learn to space the big games out a little, but I get that they want to give big 3rd party releases time to shine as well. And as long as they keep the steady stream of Gamepass surprise releases and stuff like that, theyll be fine.

We all want big time releases all year round. But let's be real here, the only reason it seems like PlayStation is getting an influx of releases now is because they were all delayed from their release last year!

Sifu is not a Sony product and is also on PC at launch. Horizon is good but not as great as I had hoped on PS5. Seriously I love the game but there are times it's just janky AF! Also it looks nearly as good on PS4 pro vs PS5. GT7 should be free to play with those kinda MT. Ghostwire looks good but why I'm gonna pay full price when it'll be on GP soon. God of War is not out yet so don't know why ur tooting that horn. Nothing is a surefire hit nowadays no matter the hype.

I've got really bad stick drift with the DS that came with my PS5. On both sticks too, it made HFW totally unplayable. I haven't used it that much either. Maybe 70-80 hours total. It's never been thrown or dropped. I have taken meticulous care of it. It started randomly since the release of Uncharted Collection, then just got worse. I bought the blue controller so hopefully that holds up.

Curious how he came to that conclusion?! There is room for 3 and Nintendo, Xbox, PlayStation seem to be able to co-exist in the marketplace no problem. Nobody else can successfully crack the market because those 3 exist! I have been critical of Sony in the past, but to say the PlayStation brand wont exist in 10 years is just pure hyperbole! PlayStation is and always will be synonymous with video games and its been that way for decades. Brand recognition that runs that deep does not simply dis...

Right, it's for our protection that they're doing online only🙈🤣 GTFO with that. Blind fanboyism is a disease

Oh my 😳 I'm sure the game itself is great, haven't played yet as there's just too much to play right now. But wow that's insane. No defense for this offensive. It is interesting to see some people suddenly defend Sony for this after completely lambasting Microsoft over the last couple of generations 🤷

My whole issue with the "Soulsborne" style of games has never been the difficulty, it's the fake difficulty that comes from shoddy/cheap mechanics/gameplay. A perfect example is Nioh. It's tough as nails, but it's super fun to play and you actually feel like you want to try and "git gud."

But most of the Soulsborne games I've played, I just can't dig the clunkiness of the controls. I much prefer more action style controls versus the s...

It definitely does! I'm starting to get out into the Forbidden West and things are starting to really open up. I just spent about 8 hours straight doing random quests and errands. Finally got the shield wing and a bunch of new weapons and upgrades that make a huge difference!

While I wasn't initially as blown away as I was expecting it to look a little more "next gen", it looks amazing and the details are more nuanced. The NPCs for example are all so diffe...

How far in? I'm enjoying it overall but I've yet to be blown away. It's feeling a bit too Tomb Raidery with the box pushing puzzles so far. Definitely can't wait till it grabs me, but I just need to give it more time I guess.

I'll be honest, I'm only a few hours in but I'm feeling a little bit underwhelmed so far. In all fairness, I'm only just getting to the first real settlement and taking part in random quests from townies so I can level up a bit. I feel like the jumping is a bit janky and Ive already encountered a few "box moving puzzles". I wish they could come up with something new for these kind of puzzles. It's feeling a little too similar to other games. I obviously need to g...

In think it's still pretty tense at times, especially early on. But you get so many tools and moves later in the game that you are able to escape, find shelter, and overcome the odds much easier than before. It's actually kind of refreshing to have a somewhat hopeful narrative rather than just dread all the time. More people have learned how to survive in the apocalypse so you see more safe zones and stuff like that all around.

It tells you why throughout the story. Basically, it's been like 15 years since the outbreaks so people have learned to live with it. It's actually a pretty realistic representation of how humanity would adjust to a zombie outbreak.

You just can't fully break the human spirit and this game totally nails that tone. I'm sure most people would give up, but there would always be pockets of people willing to fight for survival (and that of the human race) no matt...

What else could they really do with Uncharted though? I'd like to see them do another Jak game or something new entirely.

I think this is where the Bungie acquisition could play a huge part. Let them make MP modes/games for stuff like Uncharted, Horizon, God of War, etc. If Sony is going to do some GaaS games, may as well use some of the assets from the IP they have.

1453d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

It's unfortunate. Maybe the MP stuff is what they let Bungie handle from now on for their big franchises. I know that GaaS games get a bad rap, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a free to play MP game for, but separate from, their big releases rather than just tacking a half baked MP mode in their big games that may or may not be good. It could work out well and it wouldnt drain time and resources from the dev team.

Freaking sweet! There's something in the water over in Poland... Interested to see what they can cook up. Who doesn't want more Dark Fantasy in their life?!

1000x this. He practically begged them too. Would have been too perfect! C'est la vie
