Im quite sure pc gamers don't want this kind of thing.
we want better graphics cards, faster hard drives, higher quality monitors, better tracking mice etc.

Not sure if they did any market research, but er... this is merely a novelty unfortunately. That said if they are around ~£30 I would be tempted for a laugh.

Is anybody else under the impression that motion control only worked and can only work for Nintendo? I think all these developments are wasted m...

Those specs are sobering. People need to stop buying from ripoff shops like PC World who are hurting pc gaming. Doubling the cost for a system with seemably similar specs - but all the components are budget rubbish :( ugh

Runs off nVidia Tegra chip - little leaked info for you guys there. Google also bought millions for the next android.

You know, the reason I havn't bought any handhelds is because a new version keeps damnwell coming out. I wish they would give it a break.

If a new playstation console came out every year, would many people buy it?

If someone would do this to counter strike we might get some decent hit reg :D

I had a feeling MAG wasn't going to be as good as people hoped. It just doesnt look or feel like a good game, regardless of any player number issues.

They need to hone the weapon feelings - I am talking about aim down sight speeds, weapon sway, and reload timers... little things like that make a big difference. Also, I don't like the way the crosshair looks. The shading is annoying also - the dark areas are almost completely black, there seems to be 1 level of shadow in any envir...

Bandwidth is not the most difficult factor to overcome by any means.
People's connections still need to have consistently low latencies - and we are talking something like 30ms pings here.
There are just far too many reasons why OnLive cannot work, I can't possibly explain everything in this comment.

Moore's Law is one overwhelming factor.
As the computing power doubles in potential, people's expectations therefore increase. Network quality is currently limited ...

No proper PC gamer will accept the fail lag induced by OnLive - it's not a threat to anything.

5995d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I would hardly say 90% lag free. But the point stands that OnLive is not going to work; even the best possible fibre connection will have too high latencies.

OnLive is not a threat to anyone; it is going to be a massive flop.

This isn't exactly news. We all knew that was going to happen before.

"and glitches aside, there are still basic flaws and problems with the network code that make the game less enjoyable then Cod4 was."

finally some people who agree with me. still... not as bad as counter strike source hah!

well stated.

Shoddy game and we all know it - good but shoddy.
Every day I notice another piece of horrible design, research, gameplay, mapping or programming.

Take for example the stairs, if you sprint into stairs in a certain way you jitter and stop moving properly; while this might make sense it is a clear indication of bad production when you look into it. The stairs should be entities which render and clip bullets, physics, grenades etc but not players - engines like source and unr...

i thought the 100 series were laptop/low end chips.

we are all interested in the epic desktop ones, but we can only hope there will be news of them. Holding off my purchase until I can compare with the 5 series ATI cards.

8GB would only really be needed for rendering or compiling complex things. The optimal amount would be 4 (ddr2 dual channel) or 6 (ddr3 triple or dual channel), to balance latency, frequency, stability and capacity.

For somebody who is a flaming idiot he probably has 8GB thinking it makes him cooler than other people :/

not all games for windows support the controller. its true microsoft say they are meant to, but i know world at war doesnt, and i bet many others dont either.

plus, mouse ftw

i was thinking that too... but surely goldeneye? because it lead to perfect dark and timesplitters

5996d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

surely half life 1 rather than 2? seeing as it lead to 2

if i was limited to 5 then they would be (in no particular order):
doom
goldeneye
half life
call of duty
deus ex

you 2 are ignorant fools, exactly the idiots that marketing intends to capture. You clearly know NOTHING.

Yes, it is possible to have people nearby playing together, networks like xbox live already try this. But what if you live in an out of the way area? You are forced to play with more distant people. But that is besides the point entirely :-
It only matters where the servers are, this is not a p2p system. The routing, or hops in this case, is NOT under OnLive's control i...
