I can tolerate the lame players (bullet to the teeth), but I can't tolerate the broken matchmaking... the latest pc patch makes the host crash every map change :/ meaning it takes 5x as long to find a lobby and that lobby is doomed to fail. About 50% of the time it will crash on map change :( less frequently for some people, and always for me (as host). If you are not host and it changes map the chances are it will try to connect, count to 14, and go back to the menu... (no, u can't leave the...
Ah I see.
What I would like them to demo is simply a game in action, just show us what fps you get in cod,crysis,l4d and we will be convinced :/
Then a few physx specific things, nice touch... not bad artist's quirky "brainstormed" idea - stupid junk railway thing how pretentious was that?
Join a non-24/7 server then lol.
I have to admit most games have like 99.9% badly managed servers, and the owners of the good ones eventually break up/fall apart so they go down the drain too :( but it's way better than matchmaking while it lasts.
Plus, there is no reason matchmaking can't exist with dedicated servers too.
yeah but I don't class credit requiring ones as free, that is just their web banner marketing talk. People show up and they don't want to see words like "billing" or "credits" or stupid terms based on the publisher's name or the game's name which have a word like credit following them... that's not free, you can't enjoy the game fully without paying becuase things are restricted etc and other people have an advantage :. so you just pay to get an advantage yourself and the ...
The engine looks very different, I hope it has a similar feel to it.
runescape is not about the graphics. and it is not a free mmo, the free version is a trial
No, they will. There aren't many pc gamers who don't know what a server is. And those who don't learn quickly - it also enlightens them more about the technology and engineering of the infrastructure; which can't be a bad thing.
But iwnet could have hooked into the server application and still allowed matchmaking features and control over the game - at the same time getting rid of cheaters. The server would have to be a signed app and well monitored as of course it is just as hac...
It also broke the game. There is now a strong chance the host's machine will crash after changing map on the PC version.
I'm not a PC elitist. I have the consoles but I just don't want to play them, when a good exclusive comes out I hop on and play it sure. For multiplayer though I prefer the PC because I tend to play quite seriously, console games really have a place, it's just that fps games are just almost always better on pc - even if they are a bad port they can be better.
i was talking about unlockables, they still cause people to mess up the online
wow real time ray tracing??? I am quite sure 99.99999999999999% of 3d games and video cards have done that.
anyway that was just a dig at the title's idiocy...
uh yeah, those vids wern't that interesting.... and there was no evidence they were running new nVidia cards. Though, I would suspect their performance levels are quite accurace according to what nVidia say and leaked figures I saw earlier (though all could be coincidental guesses)
well, the game isn't the cause; it's a symptom. Chances are though he was getting very good at it by then - so the fact he would have (probably) been playing in matches would mask the fact that he is addicted and perhaps make him feel a requirement to play it more - but any normal person would be able to handle and manage those urges, and not kill anybody. The game is not to blame.
Rob - you are the type of gamer I respect and appreciate.
Working professionals who enjoy the game for what matters.
Love the way they say "...who is known to be dependant on video games..." trying to make it seem like it is a quote or known condition - no study or whitepaper has ever concluded in an a condition as such existing. The original sources of the article were clearly written by news media who, as usual, are trying to blame computer games. The cause of this tradegy is obviously the guy's insanity - his addiction to games should have been evidence of that, the cause of this issue is not g...
what a bad list lol. beatles rock band and dj hero? what? l4d2 wasn't that good either... though probably enough to make top 10.
My personal game of the year is killing floor, its just so damn fun. not very well made very true, but the decision making in the gameplay aspect is clearly more sensible than the likes of AC2 and MW2. I like that I am seeing flower on that list, though really I don't think it should be there. AC2 was so buggy... lol, infact games with bugs like that sh...
The modern warfare achievements/trophies are nicely done.
However we keep hearing about how messed up the multiplayer is :D and of course there are people trying to unlock stuff -> that is the same issue as Fear 2 is it not?
If you cant complete W@W on hardened you are just bad. If you can't complete it on veteran you need to keep trying. The grenades are just stupid though I agree; they're a cheap way of making it difficult. I think if difficulty options sometimes changed the campaign map layout that would be really interesting, sort of like in goldeneye you get extra objectives - but not really.
An fps needs to do this, do any?
Also, the bioshock one isn't as hard as it seems. It just ...
"PC gaming is no longer leap-frogging the consoles like it did in the last gen where it threatened console sales due to more powerful hardware."
No I think you will find pc hardware is absolutely miles better than console hardware. Not at all affordable for a lot of people yes, but thats the way it was in other generations too of course.
Everybody I have persuaded to get a custom built gaming pc hasn't touched their console in a long time. Sure they develop...
Yeah 3d would be quite fun for a bit. But I can't see it taking over. It'l be something you get out every now and again. When it's not expensive though people won't be coming round to play it because chances are they will have 3d too, and untill it's not expensive I won't be caring about it.
nope.... I'd rather play a subscription based game than a credits based one :/ credits give people a real world advantage. They had their pricing formula right with runescape - have a free version as a trial.
I looked at this game and it seemed ok, but when it hinted it wanted me to buy in-game money I just hit the x
