People instantly expect ps3 games to look better, why would that be the case when its graphics processor is no better than the 360s? It does have space for far higher resolution textures but they take more graphics processing power to render. The real benefit the ps3 has is space for larger total game worlds (only in exclusives though like gta4 and ff13 should have been) - not the look of 1 particular scene.

Crysis 2 will have bad gameplay like the first anyway.

looks pretty good..... skyrim looks far better though

Agree.

It is possible to be good with a controller too, but you have to hope the game manages its sensitivity well.

Good examples are Farcry 1, halo games & cod, with sensitivity up at 10 you can fine tune and snapshot quite well; but still nothing compared to a mouse.

Yeah, I noticed a lot of major quality issues with both ME and ME2. I didn't experience any crashing but there were an incredible number of stupid bugs. And I noticed a lot of extremely poor environment optimisation (hard to explain on here what I mean) which probably hurts frame rates a lot - it's rendering loads of geometry that shouldn't be there or should be occluded but clearly their environment artists are without the required technical abilities.

PC component manufacturers have to make a profit off every sale whereas console manufacturers make a loss through hardware (er, only the actual console not the extremely overpriced peripherals) to boost their market.

If you bought a 360 back at launch it would have cost you a huge amount of money (buying games new at launch etc. and rebuying the console when it dies out of warranty and buying new controllers when they simply stop working or buttons stop responding etc.) rathe...

If I had a 460 I wouldn't be upgrading for some time, unless the board manufacturer offered a good step-up deal or developers actually used tessellation properly. Currently I am still back on a 9800GT so this 560gtx news is good for me - by the time the 560 drops down from its expensive launch price there will be another better card though...

Doesn't that mean that other GF110 products will be worse off?

If they are taking the best chips off the line then there's no chance of getting a lucky monster overclocker chip in a 580 card :(

nVidia's marketing is honestly quite funny. They have the nice 560 but what they need to do is actually be competitive price-wise and not charge more for things of equal performance. Though at ultra high-end they are doing well, but that is such a small mar...

"PSP2 - ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore
This is a quad-core processor clocked with speeds of around 1.5GHz. This roughly translates to around 6.0GHz total processing speed, though multi-core processors do lose some of this maximum speed the more cores are added."

Lol, noob paragraph. I think people these days don't need to be treated like kids when talking about multi core processing capabilities, it's not 2006 guys. The paragraph after that is also obviously n...

Who cares if it's the publisher who chooses the prices? I wasn't trying to make a bash at steam, just pointing out some quirks.

And yeah I knew 1 & 2 were free on rockstar's site. Doesn't change the fact that they are on steam for £20 each..... (go search steam for grand theft auto duh, they are on there individually)

Not quite sure why I get disagrees for simply stating some obvious facts...

What I have noticed is that digital games take longer to drop in price after launch. If black ops was £25 I would have bought it by now, but it's going to stay full price until the next cod comes out.

Also, quite recently I noticed that both GTA1 and GTA2 were £20 on steam (individually!)... I don't think they are that overpriced anymore lol.

lol I watched that vid in the article. On the point of the gametrailers guy saying they put high emphasis on originality (in the uncharted 2 bit):

What exactly is important about originality? It can be good quite often, but why exactly does the industry as a whole think that unique selling points are so important? Clearly they are wrong, because non-original games sell very well and account for most of the enjoyment/playtime that gamers get anyway. That said, I still love ori...
