Sure, it supports tessellation. But there is nowhere near enough power there to actually tessellate effectively while also pumping out all the other graphical quality that a lot of games have.

Tessellation can criple even some mid-end PC gpus that are around 10 times more powerful - hence why metro is a pain for them to run.

Tessellation has to be applied in specific ways to be useful and I guess it could provide some nicer visuals on the 360, but nothing lik...

It isn't unhackable. No firmware for anything is unhackable.

The question is, is it too hard to hack for the people who want to hack it to be able to?

So many xbox flamers will be commenting here soon!

It didn't need an HD remake at all; the graphic style was timeless to start with.

I can categorically say that statement is total bullcrap.

inb4 PC version = console port.

Yet they use the PC version's superior graphics to advertise the game even though it will be crap on PC.

I hope I am wrong (which I should be because unreal is fully capable of exporting a nice PC build, bioshock, mass effect and bulletstorm ignored this though) but many games in the past have done exactly that. (any multiplat in the past 2 years)

Why bother fixing bugs when they can just release another game every year?

Battlefield has gone down the same route. They always say they will fix the bugs but then 2 weeks later they announce they are working on the next game and that it won't be buggy or be a console port on PC (yeah right).

Fixing bugs is against their best interests because a lot of people won't bother buying the new game in that case.

edit:
Cod reached it...

Advent Rising was incredibly good, you can get it on steam for cheap at the moment I think. It was also on xbox but sold horribly because everybody wanted a 360 at the time and wern't going to buy a "crappy old xbox game" etc.

lol, PC can have BD too you idiot

And also what suicidalblues said

360 exclusives from now one are going to be crappy kinect things.

clearly some utter retard has been promoted at M$ and they are doing his/her bidding by trying to follow nintendo (who have already taken the mass market) and completely ruining the xbox brand.

seriously I thought M$ were smarter than this.

it's ok though because xbox was doomed next gen anyway (no possibility of blu-ray and not enough people have good enough internet to do...

Putting more focus on PC makes sense because the costs of producing a console game lead to huge risks at the moment - if a game doesn't sell millions then it makes a loss. It is all based around the current economics etc. Also, PC gaming is cheaper now than it ever has been before, so there should be an upsurge in potential customers.

Another factor is the hardware out now. PC hardware is more unified than ever - you can develop a game and it takes far less effort testing...

fair enough, but is the game going to be a buggy mess again?

bring on timesplitters 4 or something like that to put a big refresh on the fps scene, ts3 died too fast online even though it was fantastic

5566d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

they could take away multiplayer and restrict it to paying customers only, I bet that would get more people to pay :P

/joke ofc

Typical, people only ever rate things max or min.

Personally, I would give it 65/100 or something. It's alright, but nothing special.

If you ever saw an actual 0/10 game you would know about it lol.

Metacritic ratings mean nothing anyway (user ones and proper ones alike) - games are hardly ever rated how they deserve/should be.

@baka

that line? it's called exaggeration

stop going around looking for reasons to think things people say are ridiculous because clearly you have a problem that needs some attention

graphics programmers have nothing to do with 3d modelling etc, they make the rendering engine (which is handled by unreal for mass effect and their own programmers in the crappy looking dragon age, hence why they need better ones)

the AA looks better on ps3 and texture res looks exactly the same

The facts have not been changed by your idiocy

highlife, he means the magnifier thingy to allow him to scroll the view on the image 1 to 1 mapped not view it scaled down.

The only real difference between the two is they have some kind of extra post processing shader enabled on the ps3 that does bloom.

The game looks like ass anyway

@SJPFTW
"Developers like DICE are only selling inferior products to consoles"

er, bfbc2 on pc was an obvious console port. Still far better on PC of course.

I think they were testing the waters to see if they would get incredible console sales, they did ok but not enough to focus entirely on consoles. Most of the annoying bugs were on all platforms anyway.

It is odd though, battlefield 3 will sell the same numbers on pc and ...
