Here's some + feedback!!!
Unfortunately for me - BOTH systems have exclusives I NEED to play - so I'll have to get both...eventually.
because I suck at it. I'm ok at other games though. Anyway, I might have to give it another go. Maybe my skillz have improved. You know - my sniping skillz, shotgun skillz, plasma grenade skillz, warthog skillz...
I haven't loaded a PC game in awhile, but I remeber having the option to load the entire game or just parts of it onto the HD(minimum recommended for decent performance).
Thanks for the explanation!
I too am a console gamer because I don't want to mess around with all the configuring of a PC. I want to put the disc in the tray, close the tray and play. That is the advantage to console gaming, and I'm happy to trade the "best graphics" of the top computers for this convenience.
But immediate updates and other patches have become all too common as the standard of having a console hooked to the internet has become...well...standard.
When it works, i...
I am hardcore enough that I bought a 360 at launch. but I am not hardcore enough to buy an Elite, which really adds little - I don't need HDMI, and I can always get another HD - since MS was genius in making them swappable.
If it is true that most of the 360 purchases were the "hardcore" as some analysts have said, then it is possible ther might not be any buyers other than collectors and the "extreme hardcore"
I would have paid for an Elite ...
Good times!!
"Hype" was not meant to be a derrogatory term - though you clearly took it that way.
Mass Effect has "high expectations" they way Fable did - and Gears for that matter. Gears lived up to it, Fable, though a very good game, was not "amazing" like many expected.
Mass Effect looks fantastic from every angle - graphics, story, gameplay etc.
However, when people have such high expectations of a game, they can be disappoint...
I was seriously considering selling my DS and putting the money toward a PS3(already have a 360).
But with this, FF Tactics DS and the Ninja Gaiden DS news, I'm keeping it!!
What is the value of the "next-gen" experience. This varies greatly from individual to individual, but these companies are trying to find the sweet spot where the better graphics and games are attractive enough to justify the price.
For us hardcore, its a no-brainer. We'll have multiple consoles and many games for each. But for the casual gamer - so far, it seems they aren't sold. The Ps2 continues to do well - that says something.
And, honestly...
They will delay it until it is right. They don't want another anti-climatic Fable-like release.
Mass Effect is supposed to blow our socks off - the way Fable was supposed to. If it is merely a "very good" game(like Fable), but not "amazing", it will be seen as a failure.
and it has a born on date of October 2005 - supposedly of the "bad batch" of consoles.
Also, my Thompson drive XBOX(the "bad drive") still works great - only one I've ever owned.
I take care of my stuff.
When I traded in my PS2 for the Xbox years ago(I recently bought a Ps2 again, the Gamestop Employee was shocked at the great condition of the console and games - no scratches and books and boxes in perfect condition. Apparently...
This, Ninja Gainden and of course Phantom Hourglass...good times.
Graphics look great for the DS.
More than both of them combined!
I don't see enough of a difference to turn away the guy who wants to play Halo from getting a 360, or the guy who wants to play FF from getting a PS3.
And - next time you get the Sunday paper, check out the price of golf clubs from your local sporting goods store. A good set of irons and woods, plus bag, balls, shoes, clothes etc. will go for close to a grand - and then you have to turn around and pay $40 - $100 or more for EVERY...
Don't need HDMI - TV only does component. A larger HD would be nice, but I don't DL music, etc. - I just use it for save games and DL content. I'm sure I'll get another HD eventually, but I'll get my PS3 first - since it will have some games this fall I'll want to play.
I agree with the 360 "choice" thing. Though I do wish a HD was standard for developers' purposes.
Why can't they just say what they like about a particular platform and then shut up?
Yes, he makes some good points, but he's still biased and most of his points are debatable.
Look, I own a 360, and I'm more than sold on eventually getting a PS3 - this fall more than likely. Can y'all just shut up now?
It costs money to make these maps/extra versus modes. I very much appreciate that Epic is willing to offer them for free - but we must acknowledge that they have made tons on Gears already. Some companies are not so fortunate and may be counting on the revenue from additional content to boost profits to reach original forcasts.
Maybe some of you have never had someone try to take something from you for free when they should pay. My pet pieve, as a therapist, is when a client...
