Fable 2, Gears 2, Fallout 3 and COD:WaW day one.
I'll get Resistance 2 for Christmas and Gamefly the rest - and eventually buy if they are good and show replay value - Dead Space, Far Cry 2, Legendary, Left 4 Dead, LOTR Conquest and C&C Red Alert 3
BC, all the ports, 80G HD, Dual Shock 3, and one of the best gaming experiences of my 20 plus years as a gamer - and I was able to pick up UC:DF used for a decent price.
A "new" 360 could end concerns over the RROD - "An improved design"...hopefully the new model doesn't have problems, or it could affect them into the next generation.
I recently finished my first play through, and then I bought Mercs 2.
Long story short - I traded traded in Mercs 2 for credit having owned it less than a week.
It is like comparing a Ruths Chris filet to a school lunch hamburger.
I now want an "experience". I don't just want a videogame.
I've had it for about a month now - it is my main DVD player - switched Netflix membership to Blu-Ray, and the games are amazing - MGS4, Resist, and Uncharted.
The machine itself is sexy and sleek - it just looks and feels like a high end piece of tech.
I love my 360, and am not taking anything away from it - I still play my 360 a ton and have Gears 2, Fable 2 and Fallout 3 reserved for it,
but I have to hand it to Sony - the PS3 has that certain ...
either extremely excited because it is high or upset because it is low, you need some help.
I like when I unlock an achievement, and will try on occasion to earn one that looks like its worth the effort - meaning I'll have fun trying.
In my experience, it is the guys with the low gamer scores you need to worry about in competitive play - these are the guys and gals who will pwn you because they only play one game - Halo 3/COD4/Gears.
I own both consoles, and buy multi-platform games on the 360 - mainly for LIVE play.
That might change - depending on the game - graphics, exclusive content etc.
I don't know which system I'll get RE5 on or FFXIII yet...
I've bought 2 360s - one at launch and then an HDMI Arcade(traded in the one MS sent back after my launch one got the RROD)
However, I've only bought one PS3...so if it gets BLOD(blue light of death), then I'll do the same.
All that matters to me is that both continue to do well so the games keep coming.
I bought this game earlier today, and this review nails it.
Yes there are some minor bugs, but the fun is never interrupted.
This game is not a life-changer like BioShock or MGS4.
It is exactly what I expected it to be - a fun shallow summer popcorn flick of a game. In that light it is a 10, but compared to the RE4's of the gaming world, well it doesn't compete.
I'm happy with my purchase. Sometimes you want fine cuisine, but sometimes what hits the spot is a huge hot and greasy pepperoni pizza dripping with cheese - that is what this game is.
When Crying Wolf if kicki...
so Mercs 2 should be fine. I'm willing to bet it will be $39.99 by Christmas, so I'll probably wait. Or I'll rent it.
Ms. Palin seems to be one cool lady. Things are certainly getting interesting.
Its almost as fun to watch as Sony vs. MS vs. Nintendo!!!
extra levels etc.(GOW golden gun doesn't count, but I will be buying the regular version of Resis 2.
I had passed it up two weeks earlier, then they were gone.
When I saw them advertised online, I called a store and immediately rushed out and got it.
I'm a happy man!
I've played on the 360 since launch, and I love it, but I've been playing my new PS3 for the last 3 weeks, and it is brilliant as well - tried online with Resistance for the first time last night - worked perfectly.
And any system that can give me MGS4 is fine in my book.
The bottom line is that while MS and Sony both made some errors/mistakes, they both made great consoles that play games I love playing. Does anything else matter?
No more Big Social on regular maps - only DLC?
I have a 360 AND a PS3 for less than 1 Grand!
but it was the best game of last-gen. Bio-Zombies don't scare me. Demonic and supernatural stuff freaks me out - even some of the ghosts in Oblivion.
RE4 had incredible suspense and cool monsters - that's all I want for RE5.
I've never been interested in business, but watching MS and Sony jockey for position is very interesting. I already have both consoles, so this doesn't effect me, but it will be fun to watch what happens all the same.
I played Fable 1, and I was hoping for open-world adventuring - a world to explore.
It sounds as if that has taken a back seat to "a smaller open world to interact with".
Apparently, there are not tons of dungeons/ruins to discover and fight strange monsters. Its more of a cross between Zelda and Sims.
Don't get me wrong - I'll pick up my reserved copy - my wife is looking forward to coop with this one, but I think I'll have to wait a we...
