If I was on the sony board, I would tell these guys to shut the hell up, they have done nothing but underdeliver. get the hardware out, and let it respond to critics with proof, words from anyone at sony officially mean cr@p.

I mean, the ps3 was the cheap way to get blu-ray into peoples homes. now that there will be none europe, next to none in japan, and very little in the US. I think some movie studios will start looking at the bottom line.

the biggest issue will be availability of the ps3. there will be a lot of dissapointed ps3 fans this year(i'm not bashing, don't start) when they can't get one before xmas, or even worse before march. it was going to be tough to get one with sony's original shipment predictions, now that everyone is downgrading ps3's shipment forecasts, it will be even tougher.

there are some who don't have high speed internet at home, to them this would be a good deal, especially for the backwards compatibility. I still don't like it, but to those who need it, it makes sense.

they should have had more playabe demos on ACTUAL ps3's(not dev kits, or pcs behind curtains) and e3, then they could have avoided all this negative publicity by having some actual proof.

one of the biggest reasons to get a ps3, at least according to sony, is because the games will look better with their blu ray and 1080p. but if the graphics aren't going to be any better, what the point in paying more to get a ps3? is sony preping their fans for upcoming diaapointing graphics? doubful , but who knows.
all the movies I watch are streamed from media center, they look nice, and are a lot cheaper.
