I'm kinda on the fence in regard to new consoles. I mean, I'd like to see prettier graphics and new features, etc., but I'm just not particularly excited about dropping several hundred dollars (likely in the $400 range or higher) for a new console. I'm enjoying my PS3 just fine. There's tons of games for it coming out this year. (2011 is full of exclusives as well as great 3rd party games.) I hope the first next-gen console doesn't come out until at least Fall ...
I don't have a huge problem with these installs, but I DO wish Sony would allow us to just install the whole game to the HDD like on the 360. I mean, hell, if I've got to install 4GB anyway, I may as well install the full 7 or 8 GB and not have to use my BR drive.

Agree and bubbles added, buddy. Some people refuse to accept that worldwide sales matter much more than one territory's sales. And I even live in the U.S. and admit that the U.S. is NOT the only important market nor the ONLY market in the world. Worldwide sales is what matters most. Of course, what really matters is the GAMES and, man, the PS3 is really pumping them out this year.

That should be a given. It doesn't need to JUST be a port of the original with a coat of 3D paint thrown on. Unfortunately, I can see that being the case for MOST of the 3DS's games for the first year or so. It'll be mostly normal DS or older Nintendo games, except in 3D.
The main thing is that Nintendo needs to make sure that they use the 3D to actually ENHANCE the gameplay. There's a difference between a game just being in 3D and actually using the 3...
I would so freaking buy this game if only they offered a lifetime subscription for the PS3 version. I want it bad!! But I don't want to have to pay the monthly fee.
It's good MS got an exclusive game, I guess. 360 exclusives are kind of rare nowadays, except for the occasional Gears, Halo, or Fable game. It's kind of funny. The PS3 USED to be the console without many exclusive games, and now the 360 is the one with hardly any exclusive games and PS3 has over 20 TWENTY! exclusive games coming out in just 2011. Man!! The irony.
Sounds about like my gaming purchases. All exclusives except for games like Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3. I may also buy Homefront.

Cool. I'm interested to see what they do with this app. If casual hobbyists can make all those interesting apps for Kinect, then this should allow even more people to do so.
Yeah, games like Call of Duty are holding back the industry, while games like MAG, Battlefield 3, etc. are trying to push the industry forward. Call of Duty's "more of the same" attitude is just making other developers think "hey, they can get away with it, why not us?".
I think they'll all receive good enough sales. They may not all be 10 million+ sellers, but they'll most likely all turn a profit. That's the idea--to make money. Not all games have to be Call of Duty type sellers to make money. Sony will probably go ahead and release most of these games this year. A couple may get pushed to 2012, but I'm sure Sony has plenty of games for 2012 in the pipeline as well.

Well, Nintendo is porting games to its portable too. lol Mario games, anyone? Plus, there's a ton of ports that are making the launch lineup for the 3DS.
Sony IS making games that are unique to the NGP, as well as games that are also on PS3 (Killzone, Resistance, etc.). Have you not seen the game Little Deviants? That's just the start, I'm sure.

One key issue here is to make sure that the Wii 2 is backward compatible with all Wii 1 games. (Keep Gamecube BC too. That would be a bonus. lol) That would give more Wii 1 owners an incentive to go out and upgrade to this new one. I seriously hope Sony makes the PS4 BC with at least PS3 games, if not ALL previous systems' games. (PS1, PS2, and PS3)
The Wii 2 looks pretty good so far. I can't wait to see what E3 shows us this year. Should be interesting....
