Well, Halo is definitely MS's biggest title and it's what caused alot of people to switch from PS2/3 to Xbox/360 through the years. Had MS not had Halo, there very well could have never been a 360. It was that influential of a game.
Honestly, I think MS might have struggled without Halo, at least in the early years. Now, they're more established and would be okay without Halo.
You know, they made these things called "single player games". lol Play some of those while we're waiting for PSN to get back online. I've been playing through Battlefield BC2, Crysis 2, and Sonic 1 and 2 (that I got free from PlayStation Plus). Lots of fun to be had with games that aren't online. :) I'm sure PSN will be back up by sometime next week. It sucks, but I'd rather them get it up for good than bring it back up and it be back down again the...
I don't know about all this "brand tarnished" talk though. lol People are making this whole situation out to be a bit more than it really is. It does suck. I'll admit that, but to say Sony's brand is "tarnished" seems a bit hyperbolic.
Umm, isn't there a "huge interest" for ALL new consoles. lol Anyway, I'm pretty excited myself to see what Nintendo can do to draw the hardcore fans back to them. A powerful console, with tons of great games, and that cool controller with the screen on it could definitely draw some interest.
Can't Wait!
lol I wasn't putting the game down. I was just stating my preferences. I went on to say that I have high hopes for the game. The question will be if 343 Industries can uphold the Halo name that Bungie has built. It will be interesting to see for sure.
If it were to appear on the next Xbox, it would be a good strategic move by MS to get a ton of people to upgrade to the next gen, by releasing their next console with a heavy hitter like Halo.
I just never could get into Halo. The jumping mechanic turns me off, how you can jump around like 60 feet in the air and hop around. I bought Reach and got online and it looked like there was a bunch of people hopping around on trampolines while shooting at each other. haha
But to each their own. We all have different gaming tastes.
I hope this game does everything that Reach did right and improves upon that. I hope it appeals to the fans and offers ...
@ Dart89
Thank you for posting that. Hopefully now, people will understand that they agreed to those terms when they signed up for PSN. If you didn't like those terms, you shouldn't have continued any further than that screen and should have sold your PS3.
Sony is not at fault in any way. It's those hackers' faults that PSN is not working right now. Hopefully PSN does get up and running soon, though. Just be patient, guys.

Uncharted 3 and InFamous are my two favorites for this year, with Battlefield 3 coming in at a close third. :) Good year for gaming, bad year for my wallet. haha
All we need is good games, good features, graphics at least on par with 360 and PS3 (really should be even better), and a competitive price (no more than $400). Anything else will be a plus for me.
That controller with a screen on it sounds pretty cool to me. Hopefully, though, those controllers don't end up costing us an arm and a leg. haha
@Lazyeye79
Yeah, they really ought to be better than the 360 and PS3, BUT going off from Nintendo's...
It'll be interesting to see what the new Nintendo looks like and how its specs are. I can't wait for E3 to get here. It's always exciting to see new consoles, no matter which company it is.
Great video. Can't wait for this game! Keep up the good work, guys. Keep bringing us quality games, and we'll keep buying 'em. :)
Ehh, every game has a few bugs. Hopefully Sucker Punch will fix this before release. There's still a couple months before release, so there's still time. Anyway, I'm still super psyched for InFamous 2. The first game was solid and I expect nothing less from this one. If the early gameplay videos are any indication, this could very well be a contender for GotY at the Spike VGA Awards 2011.
That's probably one of the most mature and well thought out statements I've read on these "PSN down" articles. While most people I believe shouldn't be reimbursed, people like you who paid a subscription for an mmo to use on PSN should get however many days PSN will be down reimbursed to you somehow, possibly in the form of a discount on the next month or maybe even a free month's subscription.
It's good to see reasonable comments on here. Some...
lol Usually, higher demand means higher prices. Hopefully not in this case, but that's how it usually is.
Still, this product does looks kinda cool.
I've never played the Half Life games myself, but if it comes out on PS3 (which I'm sure it will), I may give it a try.
@XBOXMERC
I might go ahead and do that. I'm sure it's super cheap by now. Thanks.
I personally don't think PSN being down is that big of a deal just yet. People act as if it's been down for weeks or months or something. A few days, or even a week, is not that big a deal. I'd rather them take their time so that my credit card information isn't stolen by hackers.
PSN being down is a simple inconvenience, and nothing more. I've just gone back to playing some single player games that I'd been behind on. I beat Battlefield BC2 and ...
It's better to have "too many" exclusives than not enough. lol I'm glad we've got tons of choices. When gaming it's good to have choices and a wide variety of games and that's what Sony is providing for us this year. I can't even afford to buy half of the exclusives for this year. haha I might have to use my Best Buy card to get the rest. lol
I haven't picked the game up yet. I'm debating on whether to get the Full Deployment Edition or not. I've already got a Move but I'm debating on whether I want the Sharpshooter or not. Everyone has been giving it rave reviews so far so I might get the Full Deployment edition.
I don't know, man. There's plenty of market potential on the PC, so why not. Of course, they may not want to so that people will have more of a reason to get a 360 over a PC. They won't make as much money on Kinect titles on PC as they would on 360. Games are usually priced lower on PC.
Again, I don't see why they wouldn't bring it to PC. Seems smart to me.
I swear these map packs should NOT cost $15. They should be $5 at the most. Activision are so greedy. Glad I switched to the Battlefield series. Better game and better company.
Edit: And I believe that map packs should be super cheap on every game. $15 or even $10 is too much to ask for just a few new maps. Now, if they include some new game modes, and possibly a couple new single player missions with the map pack, THEN I'd agree that $15 would be a fair price...
