While it is true that the PlayStation brand has its fair share of quote "kiddy" franchises (the aforementioned Spyro, LittleBigPlanet, etc.), the PS brand is also known for offering a wide variety of titles ranging from the hardest of hardcore down to the kiddy-friendliest games. That being said, Jack Tretton does have a point, when calling out the DS for being a kiddy platform, when its hard hitters are Mario, Kirby, and Pokemon. I'd say Zelda is really its hardest core game ...
Either way, man. I'm interested to see what the game looks and plays like. God of War 3 is still one of the top 5 best looking console games this generation, and that combined with its cinematic and jaw-dropping set pieces, made the game an absolute joy to play and watch.
Like others above me have said, though, it'll be interesting to see how they spin the story since all of the original gods have been killed off by Kratos.
I can't wait for this. Uncharted 3 multiplayer is going to set a new bar for online gaming. Having full Facebook and Youtube integration in the online multiplayer is a huge leap forward and will hopefully become a trend in many more first-party games in the near future. I'm sure third party games will adapt it as well, sooner or later. Naughty Dog, you the men!!!

Man, all I know is, either those screens on those controllers are really low resolution screens (240x160 or so), or those controllers are going to cost around $75 a piece. haha But I like what I'm seeing so far. The next important thing will be the cost of the new console. They really can't go any higher than $350-$400 for the console, or people will simply just pick up a PS3 or Xbox 360. If that's all the RAM it has, then I would have to agree with you. That's now enough to last another 4-5 years. However, since you're just speculating, I'll hold my reservations until Nintendo actually announces the specs. Let's hope they at least put in 2-4GB of RAM. The next Xbox and PlayStation will likely have a minimum of 4GB of RAM, maybe even 8GB (like Crytek wants lol).
I'm not getting my hopes up for the graphics to improve. It'll probably still LOOK the same as the other CoD games. I wish they would put some effort forward and update the engine, but alas here we are 5-6 years into the console cycles and CoD looks nearly the same as it started out this generation. I wish CoD devs. had the dedication other devs. like Naughty Dog, etc. have to make their games better with each new iteration, but, sadly, money talks and people keep buying the games ...

Because it's just the principal of the idea of releasing something for a price on the day you bought the game, that could've easily been put ON THE DISC! It's a slap in the face to us gamers. On games like KZ3 or CoD, I don't want to see any map packs within the first whole month. If it's out by then, my thought is that they left it off the disc just to sell it to us later and make more money.
I have personally enjoyed all the awesome games I've gotten through PS+. My favorite free ones lately were Sonic 1 and 2 from the Genesis. So much fun and so many memories.

If a gamer were to buy every single PS3 exclusive this year, they'd be spending over $600 easily, if not close to $1000, which is ALOT of money. It's nice having tons of exclusives, though. Having options is nice. Loads of variety in our choices too. I want Twisted Metal, InFamous 2, and Uncharted 3 the most.

That's exactly what I was gonna say. Any day 1 DLC should be free, no matter what! There should not be any paid-for map packs, etc. within the first month or so. Free DLC is fine with me, but not paid dlc.

And, regarding Valve, I don't know why people like to hate on them, personally. I'll be picking up Portal 2 on PS3 very soon. I can't wait to try out cross-platform gaming. I hope this game starts a trend with that.
Yeah, I can definitely see Nintendo doing something like that. Where you can play certain games with the 3DS as an augmented controller where you can see certain things on its screen(s) that aren't on the TV. There's so many possibilities! I hope Sony does the same thing with the NGP (PSP2). Hopefully one day we'll get to the point where the handheld console will be THE only console. You'll take it with you on the go, play it, and then come home and plug it into your T...
RIP PSP Go. Can't wait for the PSP2 with its awesome OLED screen and other great features. Now, as long as there is a $300 (or less) model, I'll be getting it day one.
