They have done a test event for every multiplayer game so far. I'm expecting something similar for Smash and quite soon.
There will be another
I guess there is some market for this, but without being able to play docked, I personally don't see a point. I'm surprised Nintendo agreed to this. Regarding modding your own. Unless you are modding your one and only left joycon, it would be really expensive to buy another set of joycons and the mod kit. Even if you could buy just the left one, is it really worth the cost?
all quality games. These would fill in the gaps nicely and are all good games.
The article isn't lying or anything. These are valid arguments. Opinion piece.
Your book is wrong. which gen a console is isn't an opinion, it is a fact. Switch is 9th gen if it matters to you. It's ilke saying the a b c c.5 d. Really there is just a manufacturer's current gen and last gen and they don't really need to be numbered anymore. It's not like they release at the same time anyway.
The time might be right for this to take off, as long as the controls are OK. I don't want to make games myself, but like Mario Maker, I might pick this up after people have had time to create some great games/levels. The upside could be huge as there are some really creative people out there.
The Switch is doing well in the UK. I had no idea.
I'll never defend hackers/thieves, but whoever created this should be arrested. I'd be surprised if it wasn't, but to design something, distribute , and execute with the purpose of bricking any system should be a crime. This is no different than someone that creates malware or viruses just to watch the world burn. Nintendo wouldn't have a right to do something so malicious, and its their product. Nintendo doesn't need white knights to deal out punishment.
good direction, but I don't agree totally with your first point. I believe that DLC is what is keeping games at $60 instead of $80 as the standard. The devs original vision can exceed a budget pretty quickly, and something has to be cut to make budget or a deadline. Most publishers/devs make a logical break in the action to have a complete arc before the DLC kicks in. Maybe not the best example, but take the movie series, "The Hobbit". If this were one 6ish hour move, is it...
I'm sure Nintendo has a plan for each of their IP, whether it be an online service game, a ground up remake, a remaster, a sequel, a mobile game, or kill it to allow something new to flourish, which is the point. They get to dictate when and if they release these old games. I would certainly love some GC games, as I haven't ever owned a GC, and I don't want to pull out my Wii and then try to find GC games to play on it. It is Nintendo's responsibility to develop long term g...
Not at all what this article is talking about.
There is a reason that copyright laws exist, and that is protection of IP. This includes distribution. The lesson...get too big and you will be scrutinized/sued/shut down. Keeps anyone from getting too big and being too influential. Simple as that. As people that used these two sites migrate to other sites, those sites will get bigger and move under the microscope. No sound company should allow the distribution of their IP to be out of their own control. Allow ROM sites, remakes and f...
At first, I thought this wouldn't be possible. Why would we ever expect anything substantial to be free? But then again, this is a port of a Wii U game that MANY people double dipped on. This means they likely paid full price and DLC on Wii U, and then paid full price again on Switch including the DLC and battle mode. I don't expect it to be free, however, I also don't think it out of the realm of possibility to have a couple of cups for free to provide more incentive and subs...
I think at least one round of DLC would be very welcome. I think that most people are expecting some new tracks before MK9 becomes real. I think I might be disappointed if there weren't. Of course, the other half of MK fans will complain that these tracks should have been in MK9. That's the realization of today's world, you can only hope to please half of the fanbase for any decision you make. You just hope the half you please is in the buying mood.
Breath of the Wild. Star Wars the Force Unleashed was also big for me.
This article is absolutely on point...at least for me and my situation. The Switch, and the Wii U before it allowed me to spend the time on games that I woudn't otherwise have been able to dedicate, and put me right back into gaming. I had the same comments when I put 150 hours into Xenoblade X, another 200 into Zelda, heck I put 140 hours into Stardew valley. No way would I have been able to do that on the exclusively on the TV.
Not everyone is a multiconsole owner and it doesn't make you a better gamer or person if you are. Who cares if it runs better on more powerful systems? Comparing to a version I'll never play has zero bearing on whether I'll purchase or enjoy a game on my Switch. Back in Genesis vs SNES days. I had a Genesis. I didn't care about the SNES because I had a Genesis. Did I care if one had a multiplat version that was better? Not at all, I made a choice and that was that. Do...
Upgrade AND a price drop? Why would anyone expect this. Most mid gen upgrades are due to parts getting cheaper and performance getting better, where the same cost can yield better hardware for the money. What you are asking is unreasonable.
It's only a dissapointment if your expectations are too high. It does seem awfully close to September for the online service not to have more information on that. Perhaps how it relates to Smash is part of this direct? Has to be right?
