I have both, so there's that. If this is true, it's take nearly 5 years to about 13m units. I know they are nonexistent in Japan, but I had no idea it was that low.

As far as I'm concerned, that ended with AC3 which ended Desmond's story. The rest have kind of been tacked on.

Doesn't seem like much of a deal, but $35 cheaper is still cheaper Cheapest entry point for a Switch from Nintendo with full warranty. Why spend more if you don't have to? If I didn't already have one, this is what I would do.

I agree with this. If I didn't already have a Switch and was on the fence, I'm sure not getting one until this new revision releases, or at least until we get details. If it is just a smaller, dockless, attached controller 3ds replacement, then I wouldn't wait. If it is just a newer version with a slightly better battery, better kickstand, removed the security flaw in the chip(which I believe they already addressed) little more internal storage out of the box, slightly more eff...

The Switch in the far future, will get the revision people seem to think is mentioned here, it will have a newer processor making it more powerful. components will be improved in that version. It will likely be lighter as well. The gap between the Switch and the XBoxOne andPS4 will be smaller with Switch 2 and XBoxTwo and PS5. That is a given based on history, moore's law, diminishing returrns, whatever.

For everyone talking about adding power to the dock. I don't...

Perhaps if you have nothing to say, it is best to remain quiet. Where can they go from here? was the question.

I'd be very surprised if that ever happened again with Nintendo. I think it is hybrid forever at this point. Don't be surprised if it is the complete opposite and a handheld only model

Temper your expectations. This could be nothing more than a smaller version with attached controllers and no dock for $249 or something as the true 3ds replacement that plays all Switch games.

Not saying it is perfect nor am I defending it, as it does lack some features that many people want, but it functions well enough. You can play online, you can chat(regardless if you like how it works), cloud saves work well enough(splatoon should work though) and you are getting NES games, with promise of more to come(clearly from the article) claiming it should be free is both unreasonable and unfair for this price point. If they were charging $60/yr, it damn well better be comparable. ...

I've never heard of those NES games. perhaps you are on the wrong article.

Never played either of these, so...sure. I'll try

good discussions on gaming are here, but you have to overlook the disagrees, trolling, and fanboy war BS. There are some good people here.

If there is ever going to be another gaming crash, it just might be when people realize what the article is talking about and these massive 4k budgets aren't recouped as quickly as publishers expect.

Backlog remains unpurchased. As a rule, If I'm not going to play it now, I won't buy it. We seem to have this need to buy games day one, but when we think about why we are doing this, does it make sense? Gaming is too expensive of a hobby to buy games you aren't playing. Read the article before you comment and you'll notice the author is saying to take the time and enjoy the games you have instead of focusing on the next big thing. The game will be there when you are ready...

Does no one read anymore? The article is good and is fairly critical of the Switch. It doesn't refer to everyone but just to the full range of gamer, which is a pure clickbait title, but the actual article is good.

the final quote, "If you’re ready to dip your toes into games, or just want to own one system, the Nintendo Switch is the one you should buy." this is a fair statement after the wealth of criticism in the article considering the game are good th...

Are that many people actually looking for this information? People all over Japan are noticing this? Really? I'm sure there is a very good reason(load balancing perhaps) and Nintendo doesn't have to tell us why, as long as online doesn't suffer in some way. From reading the article, it shouldn't matter anyway. Limits are good for stability They probably had this planned all along, but wanted to wait for the online subscriptions to begin before limiting it in case the under...

If you are going to disagree with something, provide some feedback. N4G should require it for disagrees, otherwise they are meaningless.

People need to stop focusing on what they aren't getting, or think they aren't getting. Seriously, look at what you ARE getting and work with that...or don't.

Everyone is quoting "Save data stored with Save Data Cloud cannot be kept outside of the duration of your Nintendo Switch Online membership," as some kind of evidence. This is a matter of interpretation. if you haven't paid the online subscription, you do not have access to your cloud backup. They shouldn't have had to state otherwise. Seems pretty clear.

2701d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

I still can't seem to understand why people ever expected the backups to exist while not subbed. You unsub and 3 months later, you break your switch, you sub again to get your save from 3 month ago and keep playing? Or you break your switch at the exact time you are unsubbed? Seems like such a mountain made out of barely a bump in the ground.

What am I missing here?

Your saves reside on your Switch. you upload your saves to the cloud for safe ke...
