You paid a 50% off sale price of $90($180 normally) and had to buy 3 years up front compared to a non sale price of $60, which you won't have to prepay. What is your point exactly?
With Splatoon, Smash, and Mario Kart, how could it fail? The price point is the key here. $60 and I'd wonder what game I could have bought, but for $20, it might be worth trying out. the number of users after the first year that re-up their subscription will be what I'd want to see. Hope Nintendo makes it more compelling then what it looks like.
Think how many copies it would have sold if it was packaged with a set of joy con, for a reasonable price, like with Wii play and Wii play motion. Look up the sales for those games.
I used to be of the group that thinks that would completely defeat the purpose of the Switch, but a Bundle without the dock could be the 3DS replacement. It's just a name. They never said they wouldn't have classic games on the system. Aren't there enough new and indie games to play. Many would rather have new games. Support indie developers, they deserve it.

It's cheaper
Not really a customer as I don't play games online, but I would be happy with the price and features. I've never paid for another online service, so I really don't care what competitors offer. The whole, look at what you have, not what you don't have mentality. I wonder what MS and PS would offer at this price point.
Would be nice, but it opens the door to hacking and downloading save files from the internet and potentially introducing malware to the Switch. Not sure how you get around that. I know on my wii, I downloaded a save game to get past a part of Prime 3 I couldn't get past and it worked great, but who knows what else I could have put on my system.
I'm with you. I've played all these games and have no desire to play them again, even with MP. Not a benefit to me, at all.
Nice for the single player to save a little cash not having to pay the same price as someone that shares, I guess. Others could model this and give a break to someone that doesn't want to share.

The removal of a sticker doesn't necesarily mean that something was altered inside the box. I think this blanket statement that no sticker no warranty is what is at issue here. PC manufacturers used to do this to, but I'm not sure if they still do this. It would be very easy for Nintendo to see if anything was altered or damaged upon inspection, with reasonable accommodations for careful opening and cleaning, which should be sufficient to verify if warranty is validated. Bethesda take quantity over quality. If we waited for a perfect game, we would never get it. they are ambitious in scope almost to a fault sometimes, but it doesn't remove from the fun factor, which is utmost important. If they made a more linear (and polished) game, it wouldn't be as popular.
Arkham game had great openings, especially Asylum for me. Is no one mentioning Half Life?
The game and graphics were fine. I played it on PC several years ago and now on Switch, I didn't notice any difference while playing, except it looked great to me Not sure what people are talking about. Same game, same experience. Nitpicking is the new gaming trend.
Backlog doesn't necessarily mean you've purchased the game. Keep your backlog unpurchased until you are ready to play. It's much cheaper that way.

What about a benefit to Switch owners? Not everyone wants to game on other consoles, even if they own them.
Many of us would buy on Switch as long as it ran OKish just for the off tv play options. there is a great deal of downgrading that would prevent me from getting on Switch. Since we would likely pay more, I would hope they could be bothered to implement gyro aiming.
