OK then. I can wait.
First of all, NIntendo releases firmware upgrades that should work on their products and licensed products that meet the standards. Buyer beware and all. It is not Nintendo's responsibility to support unlicensed 3rd party docks, even if software related. They will likely do what they can to solve the problem,, but that doesn't make it their fault, even if they can fix with a software patch.
I think it comes from the Wii U era where NIntendo directs had more games on the aging 3DS than on Wii U, whilst the Wii U players were simultaneously begging for more games. It probably made sense, economically for Nintendo, but as an example, I would have bought Metroid samus returns if it came on Switch. I, and probably many others, have put their 3DS's away, never to be used again. That's what I think of at least when I see a game exclusive to 3DS that could easily have come to...
It's a solid article with fair criticism. Those looking at the title and bashing the hell out of the game didn't read it and just came here to bash the game. That being said, most of the criticisms of the article exist in most open world games as well. My problem with BOTW is that it may ruin open world games that aren't as open going forward. I'm used to cliimbing everything, approaching problems in unique ways, and it will be an adjustment for other games, even another z...
The only way it peaks is if there is no competition. Competition breeds innovation.
"Nostalgia" is just an excuse when people can't think of anything else. Maybe nothing else was that great either or had less impactful flaws than BOTW. If people aren't open minded and realistic about their expectations, and enjoy what the game provides(not what it doesn't), they may(or may not) find a great game. The prevailing positive opinion of "experts" shows much less bias than any limited view of the world we get from comment sections and message boar...
dark watchman. The whole schtick about the Switch is the ability to switch from TV to handheld by removing the joycons.
Same kind of excuse we had with the Wii U. Then it was "we don't know what to do with the 2nd screen", now its not knowing what to do with the joy cons. Just say the actual reason, so we don't have to guess.
Why bother? I get that passionate fans want to work on this, but it seems such a waste of resources. I hope, at least, someone contacted Valve to get their permission and to ensure they don't get shut down. Sure, Nintendo is known for shutting these down, which I wholly agree with,, but there is no guarantee, short of contacting the IP owner, to know if your project will be for naught.
As far as I'm concerned, adding something that I won't need will just increase the cost. Not everyone wants a cord going from their router in another room to their TV. It would be an extra cost to do so. Should nintendo also provide extra long ethernet cables? or equipment to hook up through your power lines? Does anyone know that actual usage for wifi vs wired.
Article is not worthy of the click. What exactly are they trying to prove with that headline. Of course it is downgraded. What else were you expecting?
Get this if you haven't played it. Great game!
I know I'll get lots of disagrees, but the Wii U 2nd screen and off TV play ruined me in general for standard consoles. I remember playing Tomb Raider HD when it came out and it took me awhile to get used to not having a 2nd screen map.
Fantastic game, both of them. As I used the Wii U off TV, you are basically playing without a 2nd screen, so it because less of an issue. The off tv play, I don' think I'll ever be able to do without though. I can overlook a gr...
I'm not discounting your options post just saying that best experience is highly subjective.
Paintedgamer. $249 is unrealistic, even for the Switch now, but would sell a ton of units. Just because other manufacturers take an initial l loss, doesn't mean it was a wise business decision. no, the question isn't at what price would nintendo break even or lose a little to be made up on software. What selling at a loss does is to set unsustainable expectations of cost. I disagree, but respect your opinion.
These are great, but how much would you be willing to pay, even in 2-3 years. That's the big question, right, cost vs features.
Spawn Wave speculated that it could be a chip revision to fix security flaws in the original Tegra. Could be that simple.
sorry to be that guy, but PC isn't a console and doesn't always provide the best experience. My PC, for example is choppy as hell. and I don't like mouse/keyboard, except occasionally for shooters. I have a controller, but I hate playing on it. I hate being tied to my desk in my office. I'm not going to say what the best experience is, but PC isn't always better. Yes, the quality of my PC is my problem, but "PC" is not a gaming console and games won't ...
Is Ridley that much larger than say Bowser or Charizard? Seems like it would be fine.
With mobile chips getting more and more powerful, there is no reason why Nintendo would ever need to go back. I have no doubt that Nintendo will come up with something new after the Switch, but it will still be a hybrid console. Gaming has taken a long time to get to this point of handheld and home console line blurring. The Switch successor will make that divide even closer. It's dedicated home consoles that need to do something different.
