We know all too well, that in these fake fanboy wars on N4G and other platforms, exclusives only matter in support of your favorite console, despite the actual facts. Logic and captain obvious don't always show up here.
Probably true, are all platforms. Shovelware has always and will forever be up to the individual. What you might call shovelware might be OK or good to some other people. that's what happens when you cater to a wide audience. What would be considered shovelware on the Wii for instance, something like carnival games, or disney princess game, was still multiple hours of enjoyment for the right demographic. The good will eventually rise to the top. Doesn't hurt to have more games ...
Can someone explain the ultra low # for ios/android?
Calm down killer.
Seriously. The comments here have nothing to do with an excellent game being discounted. If you have not played this, it is an interesting game that is definitely worth $30.
And Nintendo does occasionally discount their games when they feel the need. Just because third party and other publishers discount heavily after about a week, doesn't mean it is the best option for being a profitable company.
Wouldn't having the invites, and chat integrated that syncs with gameplay on your Switch in a single app be at least somewhat helpful? f your Switch isn't on, how else are we to invite friends to play...another app on your phone? Phones are much better at communication than any console could be imo, why not use them. Nintendo is good for trying something new, it doesn't mean it can't evolve over time to something better, especially if they have a constant revenue stream.
I haven't tried the app before and I really don't care to chat online, but I still don't see this as a serious problem. How else are we to chat when our system is docked? a long ass cord or bluetooth adapter plugged into the Switch, that would probably mute the TV output. Does every other console have a headphone jack on their controllers? I'm asking
How would you communicate with your friends so to arrange play if their switch(or any console or PC) isn...
Honestly, I do not care what it costs on PC. I'm not getting it there if it was free, since I prefer to get it on Switch and I have no desire to play anything on PC anymore. I also don't care if a game is old or if it runs better on another console.
It doesn't make me any less of a gamer to have only a Switch to play now. I had an XBone, but it was my sons and he took it with him to college. It's not paying more because Nintendo, it is paying more because that...
You sir are an a@#hole
I don't think it even needs to be be 4k. To me, the extra resolution just increases the file size unnecessarily while providing very little benefit.
Despite these armchair developers and analysts claiming a console is maxed out early, as we hear with every console and then magically developers always magically figure out the answer to pushing further, I'm unconcerned. Until I have no more games to play. I don't see that happening anytime soon with the massive backlog of unpurchased games I'm staring at.
I took this headline as nothing but positive, yet so much negativity here. I hate N4G community, but damn if I'm not addicted to it. Port has solid performance. more than I expected tbh
Every consoles current iteration is current gen. The moment next gen starts, that is the current gen and all consoles current iterations are still current gen, even if those are not yet updated. We really need to get over this generation discussion. It does not matter.
Agreed. When you dumb it down and overgeneralize things. platformers are just jumping simulators or collectathons, racing is just going forward or left in some cases. walking simulators, Mario games, endless runners. There are many details that make a game good or great. Really?! open world games denigrated to pressing up to win. Hell a simple 3d maze crawler is more than that.
A prime example is the Switch online service. They clearly want to include classic games as part of the service and add features, with additional games to come in the future. This means they have plans for future games For that plan to flourish, they MUST control the proper distribution of these IPs. No business should accept that.
I get what you are saying about how long is long enough for a copyright to expire, and there should be a limit, but only for IPs that aren...

If a publisher just folded and their IPs died without being transferred to someone else, you have a point. I don't see them getting pissed off when people actually want to play them. That's not at issue here. At issue here is active companies with legal IPs wanting to protect their distribution. No one says you can't play them, but uncontrolled distribution is kind of a problem that no publisher should be OK with. So far, Nintendo has taken iss...
Agreed, mostly. On Switch, the games are tied to your Nintendo account. You can only have one switch at any given time tied to that account. Get a new switch and you can bring your digital games and saves with you. You just won't be able to play on multiple Switches at the same time. What I would like to see is the ability to give an already purchased digital game by re-assigning the purchase to someone else's Nintendo account. That should be an option. I was purchasing mostly ...
Game developers/publishers still have copies of the games. The preservation argument is moot. They won't disappear. It is not up to us, nor is it our right to "preserve" them in any way we see fit. If nintendo or any game publisher wants to protect the distribution of their own games/ips. What would be the incentive for Nintendo to have all of their old games for sale on a virtual console, if they are allowed to be easily accessed for free online. Kind of a catch 22, isn...
Thanks for this. actually shows what's going on
Depends on what you call a spinoff. Donkey Kong Country? Super Mario bros would be considered a spinoff of the original Mario Bros game. Captain Toad Treasure Tracker was a proper spinoff and very good. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle probably would be considered a spinoff. Super Mario Maker.
