Agreed. So every time a game comes out, we have to factor in the cost of the game + console, ignoring the fact that multiple games can or have been purchased for the system. Do people factor in the cost of a blu ray player in their movies or CDs they buy. The cost of a TV or internet when getting netflix subscription. What about concessions at the movie theater, hell even gas to drive there, time wasted in the bathroom etc.
Just a difference of opinion. Here is my honest take and I'm not trying to be snarky or anything. I play my Nintendo Switch daily while I haven't touched my XBone(Don't have PS4) in over 3 months. There just hasn't been a single XBone game I've wanted since Rise of the Tomb Raider was released. I tried playing AC Origins for a few hours, but having to play in my son's room is way to inconvenient. The game is good and I'd double dip if it came to the Switch. If...
It's really not that hard to click through the pages. It's well worth the read.
So many comments on an article that leave little up for interpretation. The facts are clearly stated.
Because if Nintendo doesn't provide $60 worth of features for $20, backlash will ensue.
The original poster in this thread wasn't talking about himself, but trying to generalize for everyone...and in a condescending tone. And so, opposing arguments ensured. Why are you defending a post like that? An opinion can be stated without trying to make everyone else feel stupid.

Steam has to get a crapton of advertising revenue with all the ads on their site. They have multiple revenue streams. They are getting paid to run these servers one way or another. I, personally don't, want to have ads all over my Switch online experience.
I see no reason Nintendo or anyone else can't charge for online play. Seems fair to me. I agree with you that classic games aren't going to cut it. If there isn't a series of games from various systems, up to and including Gamecube and Wii, I may not be interested. I need something more, especially since I don't really play online much.
I took that as no more DLC or added content. Doesn't mean they won't support the game
I think one important aspect of gaming that has changed over time. When arcades were big, the games were all arcade type games that were developed to get your quarters. They were shorter games that could be completed in a relatively short time. As they fell out of favor, games became longer and more sophisticated.
It was the goal to finish the game at the arcade on a single quarter, and was hugely satisfying.
I think this proves that "Mario" isn't a genre, as many will claim.
That says it all. Nice.
and scalp them on ebay and craigslist
I think you only need about 450 to max out your inventory. You can get the majority of this just by playing normally and exploring.
I don't recall Nintendo saying they would launch this. Only when referring to their online service. It's not like they keep promising it. Seems they would sell more new games by putting this out later.
I think Mii sports could work.
He's not entirely wrong. I have 10 devices in my home that do these things. Same reason why the Wii and Wii U didn't play DVDs. That being said, watching Netflix on the TV, then taking it with you simply by undocking when you get booted off the TV for Football would still be awesome and should exist.
I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see $69.99 for new AAA games in the near future. My issue is that if devs/publishers aren't being held accountable for skyrocketing budgets. Everyone else works on a budget, maybe they need to temper the scope and ambition of some titles to keep budget. If a game has to sell 10 million to be profitable, then your game is too big. Make a $60 game, not a $90 game and need loot boxes and microtransactions to support it. i'm fine with cutting back...
Funny how you latch on to the worst of digital foundry's analysis and ignore all the good that was said in those. Those that have played the game simply don't care for a few dropped frames or resolution dips. they aren't game breaking and don't ruin the game in any way. If they do, then you are shallow AF.
Fact is there isn't enough difference to matter..at all. This is true of most multiplatform games if we stop nitpicking everything to death and just play the games.
